Sweetness. :yourock: Wish I had ended up going up there last season before leaving town. Any photos on the way down?
Nice $79 camera photo btw. Looking good above the clouds.

It did not suck out there today. Fast, moderate density snow on West aspects up above 9k. Isolated locations of graupel pooling made route finding while skinning fun.

Mika living the dream.
Ran into Maynard K. and company today at the bottom of this lap. He was vocally displeased about the long-turning.

Snow was fast, bouncy, dense, mostly graupel. South aspects got cooked in the pm. Control work on Baldy looked to have popped out lots of little slabs this morning but the new snow had settled down after a some time in the sun.
Man if you were up high in the backcountry tonight you had quite a view. Best graupel I ever skied.

That's beautiful!
those long turners were slow on the skinner yesterday, look idiots wearing their tanner hall esque clothing, and made big ugly turns down cardiac bowl, big whoop u can go fast on hero snow....i just dont get it. you can ski how u want where u want.... but seriously go somewhere else besides noodle-land to do your photo shooting extreme skiing. dont get me wrong i love skiing fast, but just go somewhere else to do that please. your huge turns took up so much room in a crowded area......:FIREdevil sorry about my strong opinion
I think I'm going on a new campaign after reading this. Ski noodle terrain first. I'll make a point to go to all of the popular little turn areas and after I throw a skin track across the entire pow field I'll make three huge turns down it. All while wearing something that makes me look like an idiot, a la tanneresque. And the kicker is I'll skin fast to do it.
i knew id get people going on this one, thats was my intention....maybe they got inspired by the Tanner Hall Billboard we have to look at every season at the mouth of BCC?
I get all my inspo from that billboard, shit's sick... we didn't have things like that to look up to where I grew up. :tdo13:
Which is very strange because the Browoods could care less.
Marketing, go figure.
At least he only LOOKS like an idiot. Trackhead, you ARE an IDIOT.
If the Wastach was really Wasangles and like it's namesake, Los Angeles, the new-school, young big-turners would be regularly getting the shit kicked out of them by the old-school noodle turners for skiing sideways and out of the fall line and taking up too much room on crowded beach, oops i mean slope :fuckyou:.
who would win in a fight a noodler or a BMFer?
In the end, they are both dorky backcountry skiers; I doubt either know how to fight in the first place . I totally take that back if you run into the Youngmaster out in Wasangelas. I hear he most definitely knows how to whoop ass.
This shit kills me. It is public land. If you are recreating under your own power, on shit you paid for, turn however you fucking please.

Can't we all get along?
Probably not...
I have health insurance and make big turns in eathtones and I always ski with a whippet cause i'm a Kore mountaineer bro. dont worry bout Maynerd gnar with the exception of the 1/2 dozen touring partners he hates everybody and most everything in the wasatch.
Headed up a large bcc slidepath to poke around my happy place that I named the furkid after, with a telechica friend. Both nw and ne colis are a bit bony ne looked good cept a large boulder in lower choke yet. Not much snow on the w aspect up to the peak fuck skinin on a foot of sugar on top rocks booted a large part of it. Good turns down ne ramp a little whippersnappity on last pitch. a few tracks on c mitt otherwise no instabilities or turn cop mellow harshers noted.
oh and Xover back:smile::D:biggrin::yourock:
been hittin it up at brighton and surrounding slack - nice - no line and freshies days after the storm - oh ya they laugh at my duct taped ass and hippy turns - sfb - many thanks for the skiis - wow!
smooth and creamy up high on north slopes this morning while crusty like a noddle turner down low on a lrg slide path off kessler this morning. this slide path needs more snow though to truly be worth the effort, still fun.
<rant>I was thinking this year's thread on this forum was going pretty good until the BMF vs Noodler crap. I don't care what side anyone's on, the barking is a turn off to me. Bummer. Back to the re-run of the Victoria's Secret X-mas Special</rant>

I'm flying into SLC tomorrow and hanging out until 1/5, gf is working up at alta! I'd love to meet up with some of you guys to ski, and hopefully I'll bring some of the good vibes from ullr that have been hitting the east coast over the past few days!
anyway, i'm game to ski pretty much any day, so if you're looking for a partner, pm me!
some stoke to share from gpetrics and I from the recent "VTah" snow we've been having back east:

Skied some NE shots above 9k in Cardiff today with MyPetPowderGoat. Mixed bag up there
wind jacked snow, creamy fast pow, sun crusts down lower and graupel.
Well, hell, we knew roge'd check in.

That traverse looks sketch  Would guess mjk cut it but, everyone knows, no trail breaking.
I'm thinking eddie and wow are one and the same. A lotta time on you're hands, glew? Personality disorder?
So disappointing the "beater" hasn't pulled up stakes and headed for the east coast where it snows. They appear to be in desperate need of avi experts.
Oops, my mistake. Roge is there and he knows snow :yourock:
You know those little guide books they have so that JONGS can find the shit that's not on the trail map?
http://www.snowsphere.com/images/sto...SguidetoWB.jpg
Do they have anything like that for Snowbird, or the Wasatch in general? Is "The Powder Hound's Guide to Snowbird" any good?
Please don't throttle me for asking a little JONG question, at least I'm not bragging about the snow in New Hampshire :)
It was VT.
Regardless looks like a little weather disturbances will race through the 'satch over the next 24-36 on a westerly flow. Not a ton of instability in the atm so I don't think we get mega totals cranking. Prob. best guess is a foot by late saturday- maybe a little more up toward the ID border.
Oh--- pretty average temperature profile. Temps prob in the mid to upper 20's. for highs.
EDIT: sorry, I'm an idiot.
