Being my first time skiing all 3, it was so confusing figuring out where one resort ended and another started. For example, VN and the East side of El Colorado. If not one owner, at least make it easy to get an add on ticket if you start at another resort. My ikon pass plus La Parva for the day gave daily confusion to the ticket window. :)
I skied back and forth LP to VN all season, which is fairly straight forward, lifts permitting, but crossing from Fabres thru El Colorado (easy), to Valle Nevado is funky. Seems El Colorado has, by hook or by crook, walled off the northern Valle Olímpico from Valle Nevado. Ugly and intrusive, it also used the cat to pile snow up on the two cat tracks that used to join the two areas, near the bottom of Cono Este. With Silas we missed the first track in the fog, which was fenced off. Then the lower one was machine destroyed. But we made it unscathed.
Bad signage, lack of motivation, wild weather, and unexplained lift closures all contribute to the confusion. It was common to find people, usually foreigners skiing Valle Nevado, trying to figure out what was what around the top of Tórtolas, Ancla, and Del Inca. At least there usually weren’t controls on the upper VN lifts, or they weren’t working, or with an easy bypass. The guys on Las Tórtolas were forgiving as well.
Totally. I did have a long lunch with Silas at the bottom of La Parva and realized it was almost 4pm. Hustled to make it to Fabres by 4:30pm and thankfully from top of Fabres, you can make it to the Vaiven lift back to the hotel/condos base area.
Looks like a bit of a Santa Rosa going in the central zone atm to close off a great season!
Yup, border passes are closed from Portillo south. Santiago area has yet to see precipitation, and it will be brief, but a refresh could be in the making.
Closing day in Chillan

So the Sunday snowfall went with a whimper of 10-20cm, and that mostly just blew around on Monday, closing the upper mountain of LP and VN. But the sunset made up for it.
