"3" of dust on hard windbuff" = Kiwi Pow
It sucks that I can't post pics but I just cooked a mackerel imported from Norway to pay homage to Arild in his comp world.
Norwegian Mackerel crispy-skin-seared in the cast iron and topped with freshly squeezed lime juice and baby green onion slices. Superb. Just like Arild's skiing.
Here's to thinking of you, Homie...
/thread drift... please only read and do not reply--
I'm getting slightly irate that I can't share pics here anymore. "We don't care what you think." "Yeah, but you should... you should care what your user-base thinks."
Cheers dude!
The starter shot this of me right before the drop. Superb it was not, ended at 56 pts, messed up my lower section - couldn't find my line after being demolished by thirty juniors before me, but didn't crash. Super fun experience for an advanced age freerider. Hah.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...801bf12e0f.jpg

Nice work, brother. Viking DNA ftw!
Great work, Arild!
Cheers, Arild. [emoji482]
Good job, bro! So when is the next one? And those 105s look fun as shit.
Way to put yourself out there Arild. Super inspiring. Is there any good comps in the western US for us advanced age freeriders? Does IFSA have an over 40 division or do you need to compete with all the young guns? You planted the seed in my head so I’m kinda excited to start thinking about it.

I finally got a little bit of time on these skis. They're super interesting. HL construction is amazing, I wish all skis were made this well. It's an amazingly smooth ski, super powerful, no hookiness, can easily drift whenever you need it. It loves a bit of speed. It carves fine, once and a while I'll get a ski wondering off on a carve, mostly user error. If I lived some place with steep sustained fall lines with chalky snow, these would be amazing. Or if I was comp freerider. My resort is dinky, I think the FR110 or AM100 would suite it better.
Not super 113 related, but my buddy is on the committee making sure we don't have to compete against the young'uns. 1986 and up, baby!

What’s the consensus on Mount point with these bad larrys? I generally prefer a progressive mount and was thinking of going-[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]].[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] . My pair has a previous mount so it’s either that or -[emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]].[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]
I can’t read your emoji nonsense. I mounted my pair @ -10.5. I also wanted a lil more versatility(lol)
I love them for what they are…skis to haul ass down the fallline. I haven’t had any issue with tip dive and I like how well they can smear turns. Needs to be soft though
I've ended up at -10. Wanted a bit more balance in the air, and more pivot. Gives up nothing in the stability dept vs -11, a bit easier to engage. 304mm bsl/pivots, btw.

So much fanfare on the new HL offerings makes my FL113 feel lonely out there.
Any continued love for these beasts?
I skied them this week after the storm and they brought the intense joy I crave.
I am considering some edge work as they are a bit grabby on refrozen groom.
Where are you guys with the edges?
Were they 1 base / 2 edge from MO?
I’d post a pic, but I won’t…
I have the “rare” FLAM113’s if that makes any difference.
-small camber pocket a la AM100 / RC116
I'd go 1.5 or 2 base edge on em! And after playing with detuning coming from that thread and testing some TAFKALS PNW compatible setup, I'd super into backing the sharpness off on skis that see grabby snow. Really adds to their fun.
And I have a couple pair here that came in as trade ins... I'm going to mount a set up myself because I don't currently have any. When its blue and the mountain is empty, there is no better tool -- though the ZF116 i've been on sure comes close. On that note, the RC116 are enroute and arrive in the next week-and-a-half or so.
Anyway, the FL113 is a special ski. And its not an everyday ski. But when it's the call, there is nothing better.
My experience with 113 echos Marshals last statement above. When I chose correctly they are an absolute weapon, but I also chose wrong on a few days. I also think I was just on too long of a ski for me for the most part. No fault of the ski, just user error.
I am having a come to Jah moment across my entire quiver and realizing I do not require skis past 180cm.
If I were to design a v2(obviously not something I've been doing in the shadowy skunkworks since day one), I'd push for a 180 as well as a 190. The 180 would probably have 33mR or so, the 190 38. Both would probably sell about five pairs, each.
