Question: which is best on the appropriate sandwich - home grown, fresh from the garden tomatoes or premium concentrated tomato paste?
Asking for a friend.
It’s red snapper season plus some mingos so lots
of sandwiches for lunch.

Mingos are smaller but just as tasty.
Edit: Mix of Onion rolls and Publix deli hero rolls with condiments either butter or a combo of Dukes Mayo and Cocktail Sauce.

On a whim I bought a can of Manwich sauce and made a Manwich this weekend. It wasn't as good as I remember it being as a kid. Was there a recipe change in the last 20 yrs?
The fellas below ask some important questions. I think the accoutrements matter when it comes to nostalgia food.
Besides the Chinette and childish beverage, did you use those stale sesame seed buns they always seemed to come on?
I think the key was letting the Manwich sink into that "bread" to soften it up to just the right consistency so it still stayed together when you ate it but you also didn't chip a tooth on it.
Good points, maybe a redo is in order. I may have been trying to go too haute cuisine with the Boars Head pickle and brioche bun. My dinnerware was the Spode "Woodland" series.
That's certainly a plate worthy of more than Manwich. Spode Blue Italian is the DD in our house alongside some French cafe looking stuff from Williams-Sonoma. Back it on down to Chinette's top offering and you may notice the difference.
Pair with store-bought macaroni salad too. Preferably one that was left in the backseat of the car for 30 or so minutes after you arrived at the bbq.
Fuck that. Store brand better paper plates and the 250 piece silverware pack from BJ'S. It makes things taste better.
