Nice brown swimmy! Big bugs are over this way as well but seems the boat hatch is thicker. We had some up top but nothing crazy. My wife watched some dude try the lean back instead of ducking under the bridge and fell out the raft. She did say he kept the beer high and recovered pretty quick. Ha.

Lexi- pretty much all those except I havent spent much time on BF. Make it back to SW montana quite a bit too.
Took wife's friend out who has been here 4 yrs and never floated or caught a trout. She caught a few on the spinner including this pig....

Oh, it would be so unfair to these pillars of our community to take away their helicopter - perish the thought!
I realize that fines are what they are and can't arbitrarily be made to account for high income/wealth, but man, this is less than a slap on the wrist for these clowns.

This stream is mostly pocket water but it does mellow out in sections. We are just coming off run-off and while it is still high, viz was good. I also love how green things are right now.

The hatch has been very spotty up to this point. But we did see a few more bugs today.

Fishing the hatch on this river takes a bit of skill and persistence. Anyone can flip a dry fly around and get a drift. But to get to the bigger fish you got to be able to make accurate casts to extremely tight lies on cut banks with a fast current and moving boat. It can be tricky but is also what makes it so much fun.
I have a steelhead buddy visiting from Washington. This is a different game for him. Thankfully he has a good attitude, is open to coaching, and doesn't get offended when the peanut gallery chimes in to tell him how bad his last cast was. https://images2.imgbox.com/40/25/JSD...?download=true Today he had numerous eats but couldn't keep 'em buttoned up. he stayed persistent and finally got one in the net.

Nice job. I'd be pretty surprised if we havent run into each other. You seem to go close to my old rotation. Not many fish but every day on a beautiful lake with the dag is a positive in my book.
