I ran a Boston Qualifying sub-4 marathon in Sacramento this past weekend. Training was a mixed bag, I never did a training run longer than 17 miles, but somehow I kept my pace together to the end anyway. (Ha ha, looking closely at the splits, I can see a small but significant drop in pace between mile 26 and the finish line 0.2 mile later, even though I felt like I was pushing hard at the finish, and my heart rate remained near its high for the whole race, so it looks like I was about to Hit The Wall just as the thing ended.)

I was in a world of pain for more than 48 hours after, but I'm now starting to feel okay. Just in time for ankle surgery (removing some titanium from a backpacking accident five years ago) tomorrow!
