Legs are smoked! This snow beat the shit out of a lot of folks today. No pow/junk snow since February, people were done early today. I brought the perfect weapons, OG ObSethed, 105 waist, major league tip and tail rocker, so easy to spoon about. If you could keep your feet under you today was really fun. Kept telling myself to pull my feet back under, totally works in crazy ass snow.
Huge difference between town and the Jordan Grand here. Some decent turns, would've made for pretty good skiing in the drifts had I been confident I was recalling correctly as to the one covered path down last weekend.Attachment 371755Attachment 371756

^^ buttah: were the skis dragging or running?
thinking tomorrow could be good - shitshow aside - between traffic and the cool overnite temps. but really just glad to see some net gain after so much melt recently.
Blank slate of joy!Attachment 371779

I decided to risk it and took out the Wailers since I knew where all the rocks were and had a blast.
Spruce is going to be a madhouse tomorrow.

Stratton was a mad house this morning. I counted at least 20 people going up as we skied down.
Interesting morning at the River. There was some darn good skiing to be had; particularly up top, there was enough depth and density to the new snow to be skiable even if it fell on grass. If it fell on pointy rocks, eh, that might be a little different.
I hung out at the top of Spruce for a few minutes waiting for the rope drop on Risky, which was entirely worth it; going back for a second run was still fun but getting dicey quickly. While there are plenty of exceptions, the crowd here as a whole doesn't really know how to ski thin cover, and people were putting skis sideways in places that didn't have the snow to support a turn. An MRG crowd would've been a different situation.
Also, cars were most of the way down to the roadrunner corner on the Barker road by 10 a.m. If I had to guess, I'd say patrol will be busy today.
