Haven’t caught it here. Maybe mid week when this system passes I’ll get a chance if I get a bit of elevation. Agree that about 30min past sunset would probably get the best light.

There was a band from Aus or NZ in 2001 that had a song "It was a Simple Plan." Anyone know the band? No, not Simple Plan from Canada. But that latter band screws up my google search.
I bought the CD in NZ in 2001. Pretty sure it was an aussie band. I thought the band's name was A Simple Plan. But it's been 23 years.
Why does the hair on your head go grey, but not your pubes?

We have a rat or rats in the basement ceiling. I'm pretty sure I know where they're getting in and out of the house. Should I seal it up with spray foam and steel wool, then try to trap them in the basement? Or should I fart around with trying to make some kind of one-way door where they're getting in, so they can leave.
I'm 99% sure their access is under the porch, and I'm going to crawl under there tonight and put a bunch of traps out
Wear a respirator and toss your clothes when you're done. Hantavirus will ruin your ski season.
It was already very difficult to see the day before you posted, on the 19th. Maybe if you live somewhere very rural. Was hoping to see it clearly on the 19th because the moon stayed down for an hour after sunset that night. Was far brighter a week prior, and even a couple days earlier I could spot it with city lights and unfavorable moon. I pointed at it for some folks on the 19th, and they saw it through their binoculars. I'm not an astrologer, but guess it has moved too far from the sun to have much of a tail.
One dead rat, rotting in an inaccessible spot for weeks will have you second guessing your approach.
If you know the entry point then start there by blocking that.
Also, knowing what it is helps with your plan of attack.
I had a feral cat have kittens in an attic once. Fucking loud and vicious lil buggers when it was time to retrieve them.
Rats, god damn I hate them. Anyways, seal up every entry point and then put out the traps. Hopefully you can get the last one standing before it dies and stinks up your home.
If the Penn State QB has a $1million DIL deal, how much money does he take in in a month?
Buying me a red and a black Lambo money? Hookers and blow money? Private cook money? Def gotta be why study money.
Opened up my compost bin today and there was a dead rat on top of the heap. I'm assuming it was poisoned.
So, I use the compost to grow vegetables we eat. Started wondering what if it had burrowed and then died, or if I didn't otherwise discover it..
Am I overthinking the possibility of rat poison getting into my food?
Not over thinking, but not enough to kill you.
YER GONNA DIE !!!!

Maybe he died of natural causes after living a rich and rewarding rat life.

Doing what he loved--eating garbage.
Nice and toasty in there too!
Thanks for the pro tips on my rat problem under the porch. Been awhile since I had to crawl around in a rodent-infested space, so good to have the heads up on hantavirus, that wasn't on my radar.
Poison is off the menu: I had to get into a floor to remove a dead rat once, and it's pretty high on the list of things I hope to never do again. I'll stick with traps. I'll try to get them in the basement and/or under the porch, then work on sealing up their entrance. Seems rodents don't like strobe lights so I was looking around for a way to put a strobe light with a motion sensing switch under there for long term deterrence, but I can't find anything battery powered.
The problem with strobes is that they attract ravers, who are worse than rats. IMO.
You guys are making me miss the 90's..
We used mint spray around our house a couple years ago to repel rats. I was dubious, but it actually worked.
You won’t die from rat poison. You’ll get bloody diarrhea.
If you have bloody diarrhea and don’t go to a doctor, you might die.

What's that internet archive page that allows you to enter in a url and you can read articles behind paywalls?
It was hacked recently but I think is still operating. archive.org I think, also called the Wayback Machine.
Thanks GL!
Where’s Greg from AlpineZone? I like to check the Sugarbush thread to see how far behind schedule the Heavens Gate lift replacement is. Seems like all those fancy servers of his have failed and it just returns a database error. Hard to believe the manky ole TGR forum is going to outlive both Epic and AlpineZone. Guess the investment in box fans is really paying off.
Why is MAGA going after Puerto Rico? A serious question. Not interested in politics or name calling, just trying to understand the backstory?
