No way Alterra keeps Abasin as a “premium” resort. Unlimited Abasin on Ikon will certainly increase pass sales and pull from VR. With the deal not expected to close until later this year (and details released then), curious to see what Abasin does as far as spring pass sales goes. Maybe no changes for Abasin passes/Ikon (5/7 days) with the shitstorm coming the following season. Would love to get another Abasin season in (albeit w/o free parking) before going elsewhere (Loveland may be the only option).

Maybe in the coming days I'll try to be somewhat optimistic but right now I just want to bitch and get drunk. I would gladly pay double for a season pass to keep it exactly the way it's been the last 3 years. Saturday lots were full by 10am I think? And really lift lines not bad at all. But there's the rub. Higher price pass with no increase in parking would be an easy pill to swallow. That probably sounds douchy and entitled but fuck, I'm not wealthy. it's just the one place that always feels right. Damn thats a tough bag of dicks to swallow. Y’all have my sympathies. For the four years I lived in Breck, I skied the Basin more than all the others combined. For several years after I left I kept buying spring passes and traveled up there to sleep in the back of my truck in the parking lot and ski for weeks. The good old days. Hopefully it doesn’t go unlimited. Weekends are fucked everywhere now anyway. I won’t even try anymore.

I will say that Vail hasn't changed Crested Butte that much. It really hasn't been that big of a deal. We're also 4 hours from Denver and Vail doesn't know what the hell to do here since we don't fit the mold of their other properties, and that has been a blessing. They pretty much leave us alone, for better or worse. Hopefully Alterra somehow leaves A-Basin alone as well
