My daughter has gotten precheck with either mom or dad or both every single flight she’s ever flown. Including to Paris as a 17yo with mom in May.
You’re telling me this was pure luck for all these years?

Right?
I’m in BW’a boat (er, plane) never once in 5 years of having precheck have my family not once gotten the little green check even though I’m the only one with it.
Must be all that good airport karma I’m tossing out there in the SkyLounge.
Sounds like it's kind of random. I've never had my 13-17yos get pre check with me in 5+ years of traveling with it. Not sure what the criteria is but it's definitely not automatic. All of mine have originated in Seattle (at least outbound) so maybe it's just that SeaTac hates my family? Who knows. I asked Delta agent last time and they told me it was not automatic unless they were 12 or younger. Count your blessings if your family is getting it every time.
Wouldn't it be the airline that assigns precheck to family members of people with trusted traveler credentials, or to non-TT's for their return flights? The govt may issue the TT number but it's the airline who puts pre check on the boarding pass after you give the airline the TT number. So maybe the policy varies with the airline?
MSP's new G concourse (Delta) is pretty nice.
LGA is still a fetid shit hole.
For future reference, do taxis with shock absorbers cost extra?
Props DEN, you’ve significantly upped your game (at least in my personal experience just coming off a 10 day trip around Summit and Eagle Counties).
I’m sure flying Delta helped looking at all those poor SWA-stranded people and luggage on both ends of the ATL-DEN leg, but I’ve never in my life landed and come to baggage claim to have my luggage waiting for me there - ski bag and all. It’s always been at least a 35-45 minute wait.
Then this morning ahead of the storm they got us up and out and in the de-icing pad ahead of schedule while the delays kept piling up elsewhere.
Oh, and while completely unrelated, I was able to locate a premium SUV as my rental a week before Christmas when our ride bailed and everything was sold out (an Audi Q5 or equivalent) for way too much money through Enterprise, and when we arrived we were informed that none would be actually available for several hours but if we were willing to accept this new Toyota Highlander they’d be willing to knock the entire rental down to $275 for our troubles - I couldn’t grab the keys quick enough.
Kudos, DEN,
I must have missed the invite for beers. ;)
Fred's got some special gummy bears for the kiddos.
Clicked on the thread by accident bmills can never hang out cause he's got a boat load of kids w him someday he will dirt bag it and sleep on my floor sans all the adult responsibilities
Did you say your sister is single?
One trip sans kiddos I’ll be more than happy to take you up on that offer Fred.
Much like you, your home mountain was very accommodating with the pow this week. Caught 6 chair when it opened on Thursday for several first-tracks runs, then enjoyed boot to knee deep trees below the T bar as the tracks just kept getting filled in.
Caught the back side of 10 as it opened after both storms Sunday for just some silly-deep snow. Shocked to hear of the fatal slide just the other side of the rope there that evening. Heavy dump on top of light blower had to make some very unstable snowpack.
And no, sorry, no single sisters.
I can’t believe you jinxed DIA by giving it props. I’d say see ya in Feb but you will obviously be rerouted to Des Moines.
I flew Delta DEN><ATL for Thanksgiving. It was seriously the best flight/travel experience I've had in years, both ways.
Let's have a meetup next time you are out.
Oh yeah, you can sometimes get pretty reasonable flights direct to EGE from ATL. Done it a few times.
FYI, 2500 skymiles if your bags take longer than 20 minutes: https://www.delta.com/bags/bagsClaimAutomation.action
JAC is now a shitshow with baggage, at least on the United side. Had tile trackers in my ski bags, got our regular bag, but us and 8 other groups never had our ski bags unloaded from the plane. Even as I was showing the baggage staff that the bags were still in the same location on the plane, they insisted that was impossible as I watched them take off and land back in Denver 90 minutes later. They were flown back later that night.
On our outbound leg to EWR, despite checking in 2 hours early, they simply forgot to load one of the ski bags. It sat in the same spot in the terminal for hours while the other bag got on fine.
Don't get me started on the 2 people working at half speed at EWR to bring ski bags and large items out. An hour of my life I'll never get back
Absolutely.
And definitely always check EGE first. Back in the day when Delta had Comair I’d buy their weekend traveler packets of 4 1-way tickets for $300. Best deal in ski travel ever. Pre-pandy there was up to 4 flights a day direct from ATL-EGE, think it’s down to 1 or 2 now which sucks.
Now this is news you can use. Thanks!
Worst airport right now is the one in Alabama where a worker got killed after they were '"ingested" by a jet engine. Fuck.
While Delta tries to calm down the lounge access, they will at least be offering free Wi-Fi on all domestic flights beginning in February, which is nice.
A lot more blue screen surfing from 30,000ft.

Delta is the best, at least lately. I watched Death Proof and Godfather 2 to/from ATL on Delta flights. Hundreds of movies to choose from to watch on the seat back screens.
Headed to DFW>STL as we speak…..Will update on shittiness or lack thereof accordingly…..
Istanbul, great airport. Thru customs and passport control in minutes, vs 1h in Feb Francisco.
Helps that it's a new airport, built on a lot of empty land.

Annnnnnd DFW is a shithole…..
been in denver, oklahoma city, omaha, memphis and san diego past 6 months. omaha was good although tiny. denvers southwest terminal is a freaking monster now, over 100 gates and san diego's baggage looks to be a close second to houston hobby for worst baggage handling. 3 freaking flights to unload, took them an hour.
Schipol/Amsterdam cranks.
Efficient, well serviced f&b wise..
We had a layover there and went into this wine bar next to a Subway. It was crazy expensive for some reason. I mean, more expensive than a normal airport bar. Cheapest glass of wine was like $30 and the pizza was $25 for a personal cracker thin crust. I wonder if that place is still around.
LaGuardia, now a prettier shithole!
Forgot to mention that the views from SLC's terminal are impossible to beat. Luckily my flights were all right next to the big glass lounge.
Check in at Delta and the rental counter were stupid easy.
