I hear you, that all makes sense. I'm not even thinking about April right now, but I know I'll be skiing somewhere.
Looks like I got a solid partner that I did plenty of days with back in Colorado - love this place. :)

Wow, that is so sick that you ski in New Hampshire. Instead of spending so much time compiling proof that you enjoy the outdoors in New England and posting it in a thread about skiing in Utah, you should try fucking yourself.
hey retard... no one cares that you ski in nh, or that you even ski in general. if your shit's so sick, maybe you should consider keeping it to yourself so it doesn't get crowded :rolleyes2. there's an EC roll call thread, keep your garbage in there and quit cunting this thread up with shit that is completely useless. we seriously don't give a fuck. every one of your posts comes off as some holier than thou bullshit, and yet everyone can tell you're just trying to compensate since you obviously (and I'm being completely serious here) miss skiing in the wasatch. fucking give it up man, it's pathetic.
oh and while i'm at it... thanks for posting 6 awesome pictures man, the same thing you just posted in the ec roll call, and that you've probably posted 6 other times in 6 other places. if we wanted that shit we'd go there, notice how this has wasatch in the title?
dude's concise, damn:eek:
Notice the Alpinezone watermarks, rad.:FIREdevil
pardon me for sharing a few pics. meant no harm.
looks like a few of you could use some new snow........or some action^^^^:fm:
thanx for the wasatch stoke, getting me stoked to come back for a visit.

Not really on topic, but I just picked up a 1988 Samurai that will have Tatou tracks on it for next winter..........0.8psi ground pressure. Obviously not as capable as a big diesel cat, but it will work for 95% of the forest access roads. From videos, these little vehicles with Tatous go through 2ft of snow quite easily, so any snowmobile road should be fine. Considering putting a 1.8l VW diesel in it at some point.
Heated cab, nice radio, no two stroke exhaust, 4-6 passenger.......
Nebo, Skyline, Strawberry Peak, Farmington, Logan Canyon, Double Top Peak, Naomi Peak, Cherry Peak, La Sals..........

Samurai with Mattracks (smaller foot print than the Tatou's). Bonus mullet redneck music.

^^^awesome!
Hell yeah, a worthy successor to your old snowcat.
I think spending so much time around all those fucking mormons is giving you guys some kind of anger complex. If you read more of his posts, you'd likely realize that Rog here is pretty cool shit and was not trying to cunt up your Wasatch thread with his EC pics. If you can't appreciate the beauty and serenity of those shots of big old school NE lines (skiing in this country started here after all) then perhaps YOU should try fucking yourself.
BTW there are actually very few pics in this thread and almost no TRs on the board at all. It seems everyone has to post their shit only on their personal uber cool blog or some shit so I say the more stoke the better.
While AlpineZone runs a lame and tame forum, they do allow for a lot of pic hosting, which is pretty rad. Besides, this place isn't so cool anymore either (see TeleHoar's ttips thread)
Trolls, angry fucks, losers, dickwads, douchebags.
Take your bullshit somewhere else, there's plenty of space for it outside of this thread.
Congrats Derek that Samurai is pretty rad as well. Let me know if you need any help dropping a new motor in there.
At first I thought the Samurai was a joke. Looks like it's the real deal. Bad ass. Nice work on the babymaking too.
got a pass at brighton - forgot about the placwe for a minute - usually 20 riders per day - sweet bc access - the tp........
did some suicide chuting yesterday afternoon. punch through sun crust on south slopes covering about two feet of snow. inside the chute found some variable snow but pretty consolidated down low with the surface seeing the affects of the wind. pretty deep snow in that area.
wow, the armchairing and stupid shit in this thread is at an all time high. i guess its like encryption though........
Congratulations Trackhead! I'm sure the car seat will buckle right into the Samurai.
Overcast and with no new snow, today seemed like a good day to climb down this hole. Could have used a couple more feet, just as hypothesized. It was good adventuring all the same.

Nice perspective on that shot. Way to be creative.
Love it Gnarwhale. Still some moderate density snow up high on the shady aspects skiing well. Had to realy hammer on some CTs to get anything to pull out on N,NE aspects at 9200.

Took the skinny skis up to the Mill Creek yurt. Looking pretty thin down low, but there was about 2 feet of settled snow at the upper parking lot. Warm and drippy. Ran into a guy that went up Porters and said it was full on spring slush conditions.
Hit up the Hallway yesterday. Super good snow in there, but pretty heavy down at the bottom. I found someone's glasses in the couloir it self. If you lost them please send me a pm and I will get them back to you.
Popped my bc,split, utah cherry at the same time.
Finally got my first day out on the split and explore some of the sweet backcountry Utah has to offer....started the trailhead at the last alta parking lot I believe? Im not too familiar with the zones but we went up to the overlook where you can see Soli, Brighton, Bird, Alta and Park city
one of the best days Ive had

Forgot my poles but we still found some great pow on N-NE aspects at 10-11K yesterday. A little worried about drifts and cornices on top but most didn't want to go anywhere. Large ground facets were found in shallow east facing cliff-out zones but other than that, no instabilities noted

... until the drive home.
I would love, love to take you up on that offer. Let's DO IT!
And, I'm still so excited for you guys and that little bean that's brewing!
I have nothing else to contribute other than I actually get to go skiing this week. I'll be at Alta, but hey...skiing is skiing for this busy mom these days :)

F'n rude! UDOT should be pry-barring those things every spring!
wow thats a heluva stone. That would have chipped your windshield, your lucky.
Excellent powder conditions with no instabilitles noted in the Bear River range. The sledders are starting to pull the big bowls, so far so good.
^ sick ride! congrats on all fronts derek.
Hit up figure 8 hill for a bunch of laps. no instabilities that we found. Very smooth and creamy pow.
And to the old man running his mouth about how big my turns were i say screw you! If i am doing something unsafe go ahead and call me out, but I can make turns a big as i want anytime I want.
got up for a few sunset turns this afternoon. today was smooth and creamy like otter said. snow might have come in a little upside down. might be something to consider in the future when more weight is added on top. but no instabilities noted in the northeast, east and north slopes i skied today.
The booter is in, go get some. Stable snow in the Grunge Couloir and the lower north facing couloir below it.

The line had slid out recently due to a cornice break, making for safe conditions and easy booting. The last 20 feet of traversing to the ridge had not slid and had a wind slab. We stayed off it this time, skiing from the cliff.
Fun spot to put on skis.

^^^ Looks like you quite using the cell phone to snap shots! Nice!
good to see you are back out and about  now if i can just get you to return a message in between pipe laying events with the wife (gotta take advantage of those no consequences times ;)) maybe we can get out and piss some old farts off with big, phat, long turns .... and cackles of course :D
