So the pinned notice from the home ship asks if anyone has capabilities - Not sure if they are only wanting programming or coding skills, but I'd be interested in helping if I can I am not a programmer, but there is testing at a number of levels that will probably be required (beta, etc.) before the final roll out, and migration of the data to another forum other than VBulletin in fact could be a much more difficult process especially if this is put together with VB or other customized code or scripts could be a very difficult process requiring database skills, code and data verification as the various moves are made
Glad they're looking to replace the old forum version, apparently; that seems to me the way to go. It's obvious to me that this is a broken installation, not bugs in the version that they're running, but if they need to reinstall, might as well upgrade. Moi? I'm just a retired JavaScript/ PHP/ etc. guy; closest I've come to working with forum software was when I wrote the Uncopulate browser plug-in to give TeleTips a badly needed Ignore feature (and to turn "copulate" back to "fuck", though I actually found Mitch's "copulate" substitution hilarious). Anyway, I guess contact me if y'all want help testing or whatever, but I don't think you need coding help (pretty sure it's an installation problem); good luck.
And/or configuration problem. A lot of the issues I've seen appear to be with the WYSIWYG editor wanting to fuck everything in the ass. Not sure if image upload and reply to a post are related though. I'm curious if there's a mismatch between the PHP version that's running on the server vs. the PHP this old-ass vBulletin installation needs.
How can this not be figured out after 7-8 months of this nonsense? Have to refresh on my desktop to open a thread. Half the time another browser opens with some clickbate ad. [Emoji] after [Emoji].
And no tags

I can reply again! I have been iced out for a while.
Are there not backups of the previous versions of the code base?
Take that pernicious little piece of TGR code, wrap it in a shiny candy-like exterior, and insert into Musk's mainframe.
Welcome to the emoji-bomb.
Kiss first?
Looks like the Reply functions and WYSIWYG editor issues are fixed. At least for me, using Chrome on a Macbook Pro.
For me, posts from the app -- as outdated as that is -- show up perfectly, and posts from my computer on firefox are the ones that fuck up.
I can even go in the app to edit a fucked up post of mine and that works to get rid of the crap. Weird.
I'm using duck duck go browser and the black and white metro mobile version on my phone. It's still broken.
Reply mostly works if you just wanted to respond in any form. The codes for things like apostrophe ' quotes " and some other special characters do not work most of the time (but even before this site went into a only semi working mode, they could be showing html tags wrong. The reply with quoting of a post is still not working on desktop, has not picked the right post number and no rhyme or reason to it...)Quote:

Metro mobile version is working for me with the one exception being you have to open links in new tabs.
You can't click reply/quote/edit, but you can long press and open in new tab (or middle click/right click open in new tab on desktop) and they work OK.
But you can't post images from Metro Mobile.
When I said reply works, I meant Reply With Quote and I swear it worked for me earlier today, but now it's not. I had to add your post to multi-quote and then click the big orange "Reply to Thread" button, and that worked. Apostrophes's and "quotes" seem to work fine for me. And the WYSIWYG editor in the advanced reply screen isn't broken anymore, and doesn't appear to be adding random HTML code to posts anymore. for what it's worth I've never had an issue with the emoji bomb 1234567890 and don't even know how to test for it. TGR White theme in Chrome browser on a Macbook Pro.
Edit to add: editing seems to work now as well?
This is what the reply with Quote pulls up for any post I try and quote unless I do the copy and put the html quote tags in and I do not try and get the mags screen name...Quote:
