Yeah, I blew it off based on temperature and inches and the fact that all schools are closed. I wasn't interested in getting up super early and freezing my ass off in long liftlines for 3".
Nice!!
Dang but makes sense. I’m hoping it’ll be skiing pretty nice through at least the weekend given the 7 day (or so) totals.
Like some others in here I was relegated to work but still gonna aim to get out this weekend!

I'm now shooting for Friday, if work doesn't fuck that up too. Work keeps fucking up my shit so odds are actually good I'm getting fucked.
dust on ice crust yesterday.....
Next time up, check out Timbers Lodge lower level up to grill. There are a bunch of concepts for new lodges from students on the walls.
and guess what, I'm getting fucked. No Eldo for me this week.
Don’t look now. Might get a few needed inches from this one. Stake was bare at 3PM, picked something up since so far anyway. Not nuthin.

This afternoon kinda sucked up there. Enjoy it in the morning.
I was up early this morning until about 1130. Still sub par conditions but fun to get out. A lot of traffic heading up when I drove down. I was also up last Thursday when it was cold cold cold but hardly anyone there. Hard pass on the weekends up there!

Skied the cluster!!!
Arrived at 6:30 place was pretty empty. Saw lots of SOVs just helping themselves to the HOV parking because it was unmanned that early. HOV was full by 7.
I never found wildman so I had to go in without reinforcements.
Rode up Corona with this dude Eddie, probably 5th or 6th chair and we were pretty psyched to see:

Ended up being an awesome run.
They didn’t open the glades until maybe 9:15. I knew I should clear out of the Corona lift around 9:15 or 9:30, but I lost a ski in the glades. My retreat was slowed in search of the ski.
Skied straight on for two laps but after finding the ski:

It was only actually about 15 minutes, maybe. Prolly 10.
Denser type powder, so hopefully it sticks well. Wind was doing its thing to the more exposed stuff.
Trees got a nice refresh, the open runs were already getting a little scratchy but oh well. Bumps skied nice.
Started out sticky cold got to prolly 25f.
FWIW 6:30 was PLENTY early, snagged the best SOV spot.
YAY powder!

Welp I left my place in Central Park at 6:15 and thought I’d be fine. Got onto 270 and hit a plow brigade going 25 mph just before i25. I had to follow them all the way to the exit before baseline road. Ugh. I lost time, but when I turned onto Canyon my eta was was still 7:33 so I was ok right? I lost cell service and when it came back I was in the backup to hit the Nederland roundabout with a +17 delay with an ETA 8:20 and rising. Then I saw the Eldora tweet saying if you are not in Nederland or very close you might was well turn around. I didn’t want to mess with the roulette so I cut my losses and went home.
I told the wife to get the girls 3.5 and 6.5 ready to head back to Boulder and x county in North Boulder Park. We had a great time and my wife drove us home after my three pint lunch. It was too much car time and frustrating, but a good salvage after cutting my losses.
When we left North Boulder Park snow was holding up as of 12:30. I’d say I will last to lunch tomorrow.
Rolled into eldora lots around 730. Helped ourselves to beachfront parking. Cold and blustery day till the same came out. Muleshoe was aight 8 inches on top of crust. Exposed. Corona was surfy…salto and west ridge skiied well in protected areas. Front side glades really nice. Belle was in prime condition. All in all a Beautiful day with soft surfy fresh snow and no traffic. It was my buddy’s bday and we kicked it till closing with a solid posse. Attachment 405673Attachment 405674
Parking and traffic is kinda fukt at eldora right now but you just need to adjust…like in life. Hopefully the additional parking next year will help.
