Got stranded the other day in the Vanagon, for about 3 mins. Was able to get it rolling and pop the clutch. Dam known starter switch issue I have ignored, finally ordered the relay switch for $12.95 with shipping at $13 so added on another $200 of carpet to justify the shipping.
Not sure what is worse on the wallet.... skiing, kids, or a vanagon westfalia

That sucks. Can someone explain a rtt on a vanagon? Kids is only real reason I can see. I mean if you need more storage how the hell is this going over 30mph on a mtn pass?
