not a rumor. guy fell on the 100'+ gap (pretty sure he cleared it though) and i heard probable broken ribs. care flight sat about 30 minutes before taking off though so it doesn't seem too serious. today seemed to be about still pictures and i 'hear' tomorrow will be video. Didn't seem as though the Red Bull folks were there yet today as banners were still going up and when I skinned out on the shore of Caples I saw a large Red Bull Trailer (presumably snowmobiles, maybe helicopter support) rolling in. Snow was money up high even at 3:00. Three other folks I watched with from top of Thimble all came up from Chair 7 or the new road up 10. i skinned up from Caples through the venue and was told not to take pictures. :rolleyes:

Is Kirkwood enforcing the no skinning policy?

it is more of a don't start here, and climb our cat road, that may have building materials for the new shed at the top of ten, and get run over, thus slowing down operations and really bumming some folks out policy. if you douche them, and are parked in their lot, well, they may fry ya. if ya dont douche and/or dont park in their lot, then you are clear.

100' gap? holy fuck. maybe part of the quiet about superslope is they don't want the kid who just played way too much ssx since the season ended hiking out and going for a triple linty.

the folks i was watching with were considering hitting the top jump, which was like a medium to large park jump but were not even thinking about the big one. it had been closed off to the pros earlier in the day as things got slower so it was pretty clear there was no clearing it at this point. two of them did skin up the new road on 10, the other came from 7. they all lived in valley.

Someone needs to create an alias and post a pic of this 100 foot gap jump.

no alias necessary. this was before i was asked to not take pictures. i have pictures of a few people hitting it as well (also from before I was asked not to) but i won't post those since i don't have the athlete's permission (even though their faces aren't recognizable) and I'm relatively certain they would have some sort of agreement with Red Bull to not post any pics before Red Bull gets the value out of their media.

S.P.C, unpossible, Kush, Arty50, and I had an absolute blast of a ski day! Early morning groomers were horrendous, but the East facing slopes Estelle delivered early on. Kangaroo was the corn groomer of the day (after dirt skiing to get to it), Sisters, Pete's Peril, park laps, Keyhole sessions, triple straightlines of nun's cunt, and late in the day laps of High Yellow to Sherwood were amazing. Hell, I even met Gone2Alpine in my boxers and he gave me a hotdog...long story. :)

^^666, I watched your crew drop into keyhole at the end of the day. Yellowshirt guy got hung up pretty bad. You jumped from #2 to #3 and I heard what sounded like skis hitting rocks and laughing, was there carnage or did you kill it?

Supposedly Plake was there too, anyone see him?

Didn't see Plake, but skis hitting rocks and laughing, but no injuries. On my last lap, I attempted to ski the upper portion and air out skier's right without stopping and just barely cleared the rocks and holes. All good fun for a last Tahoe lift served run.

Nice TR 666. There shall be no hot dog and bun references on this thread.

i'm certain there were naked dudes off to the left of spats in that pic above too...

Any word on how Mt. Rose Chutes are holding up, and how they might be skiing in the evening?

that there is secret cove, on tahoe's east shore.

the chutes were really fast and firm today... skied fuse at 1030 and it was scary (still frozen bumps), I skied el cap at 1130 and it was still too firm to be really fun

It will be better inna week or so once we get some warmer days (looks like highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s the next few days up there)

Im gonna build a lil booter over a dirt gap in the east bowl tomorrow if anyone wants to shred

I'm kinda dissapointed that there aren't more Bay Area Mags, and Tahoe Mags making their way down there :confused:
