OF course, this isn't a massive issue but there is a group of us every year that likes to hike up to the Cirque and ski it legally. Its just a fun thing we like to do.
The best part is that as soon as Kirkwood closes and until they reopen for skiing, its a ghost town. You may have at most 3 people actually hiking to ski...on a Saturday during the post season. I agree that there are better areas to ski in the BC, but access from your car at 7800ft to north facing slopes, bathrooms, a general store to buy your snacks/drinks, makes it all a nice quick mission.
