Tikka T3 Light .308. Shooting 1/2" groups with hand loads out of mine and it is bone stock save a limbsaver and harris bipod. Buddy shoots same gun in 30-06 with same results. Awesome guns out of the box.

And the return of the Rev. Noice. WTF, out of the whiteroom?
I'm just 30-06 guy. It has and works for me for so so many years.
Am I growing a curmudgeon card, or if it ain't broke don't fix it?
Same with my Wingmaster's (2) and my Leopold scopes.
Who cares.
Picked up my first gun yesterday. Just a plinker, but hey, I dig it.

Now I get to deal with this empty ammo shelves, yaaaay!
Ammo recs and online source revs? I've come across ammoman.com and I think I'm looking for Remmington Yellowjackets or CCI high velocity hollow points, but I could be wrong.
@guroo...check out Powder River Cartridges at http://www.powderrivercartridge.com/. He's a good dude, good ammo for hand cannons and good pricing.
Tikka T3 or Savage 16/116 Weather Warrior.
If you want a nice stock for a reasonable price: http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/
I went fairly bananas....
Bought the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Kit
Then bought:
RCBS Charge Master Powder Dispenser (game changer for sure)
RCBS digital micrometer
RCBS shell holders
RCBS competition die in .308
RCBS dies in .300WM and 22-250
RCBS shell cleaner
All in all it was around $850 for everything but it is very enjoyable. I've already reloaded about 120 .308 and about 50 .300wm. By my count, I've saved roughly $200 already as compared to match grade ammo so it won't take too long to pay it off and build WAY better ammo in the process.
Don't want to sound like a snob. Most of my rifles are custom, because I demand less than 1" groups.
I either customize them myself, or have them done.
Either they shoot, or they are gone.
Long story short.
I zeroed a 25-06 Thompson Venture for a friend of mine.
I did nothing to the setup.
I shot about 10 different loads in it, including greendot for a puff load.
This rifle shot well with anything I put in it. I would highly recommend this rifle to someone getting started.
I was very impressed.
100yd groups, with no workup, except for the first 3 sighting shots

Harry,
How do you like the stock? It has the rubberized grip instead of "checkering", correct?
Any chance you can post a picture?
I hit 3 guns stores in ME this morning and no one has a SS Weatherby or has ever seen one to tell me if it is the same stock as the lower end model they carry.
I am 95% sure I hate the base model synthetic checkered stock.
Good to hear about the accuracy!
Got my CCW permit in the mail yesterday. Only took the Boulder County Sheriff's office two weeks to issue. I applied on the 7th and the permit was issued on the 22nd. That must be some kind of record in the CO frontrange- apparently most counties take the full 3 months.
There are a couple girls visiting our CO office from our German office this week. I was in a meeting with one of them today and she mentioned that her German boss gave her a list of things to do here in CO and jokingly told her to find a gun to shoot. Our company is in the tech industry, so she didn't think anyone would actually have guns. The other CO guy in the meeting and I both have guns, so we are expensing some range time with the Germans on Friday :the_finge.
^Are they hot?
^ And if they are, tell 'em that wearing a bra interferes with proper shooting technique and will cause discomfort.
As if I need to say this,,,
pics or your German friends will be nothing more than a figment of my imagination

Shooting with the Germans. One of them LOVED it, the other wasn't too excited. All in all a really good time.
Exactly. The one on the left was having trouble keeping a correct stance and had a couple limp wristing issues with my coworkers XD. Limpwristing didn't cause any issues with my Glock, so at least that was good.
The one on the right LOVED it and was hitting bullseyes at 10 yards.
righty is a natural and deserves moar range time, hint hint
Having the forward leaning, in-attack-mode stance as opposed the girl on the left stance has made the biggest difference in my shooting. That, and holding it sideways with one hand.
Blat!
Ruger mk2 .270
Any thoughts? Any experience with this rifle? I am considering it for a deer/black bear rifle here in Northern California.
