Hippy crippler and dog walker OG
bone dry per prep for surgery orders. can't wait to be off all this pharma crap.
Speaking of Pharma vs Cannabis. I've been prescribed Sativex.
It's an oral spray made by Bayer and I believe the THC to CBD is 1:1
Works great on its own but when dealing with chronic pain & taking it with 30mg Codiene pills it gives me a great body stone. It really works well together
Shame it not legal in the USAQuote:
"Sativex is a marijuana-based pharmaceutical that is now approved in over 24 countries.
Sativex is a whole cannabis extract that comes as a peppermint-flavored mouth spray. The first pharmaceutical drug of its kind, Sativex can be prescribed for patients with multiple sclerosis in countries such as Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
While the drug has not been approved in the United States, that could be changing very soon. Yet many wonder how Sativex actually differs from marijuana, which remains an illegal drug.
Here are some basic facts about Sativex that you should know:
1. Sativex is a marijuana extract.
Despite its pharmaceutical sounding name, Sativex is made from the cannabis plant itself. The company behind it, GW Pharmaceuticals, has openly stated that Sativex contains all of the same compounds found in cannabis.
The difference is that Sativex is manufactured using modern processes that allow the medicine to be standardized – meaning that each bottle of the spray contains the same concentration of active ingredients. The formula for Sativex includes a 1:1 equal ratio of THC to CBD."
At $260 a bottle it's not cheap

^^^sweet TBS!
they didn't want anything inhaled a month prior, even vaping oil. the concerns raised were mostly increasing the risk for pneumonia post-surgery and quicker healing. they don't care about edibles. morphine and oxy just wrack my whole self without as much pain relief as i would like. but as noted elsewhere, i am a special snowflake with a completely fucked up nervous system with regard to pain, and i have been through the ringer with this shit more than a few times and that's what they gave me. i guess the morphine is not typically (at kaiser anyway) prescribed prior to the surgeon seeing the patient post surgery but he rang me up ahead of time for the injections for my stay and also for some pills to take home because of my history. considering he told me it would be the worst pain i've ever felt, it hasn't been as bad as i had prepared myself for and i'm not taking any more than necessary and hoping all the hard work prior will allow me to get off it sooner.
^^^Nice - what strain? Looks like a sativa of some sort

The New York Times: Marijuana Lights Up State Ballots. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwrrvShTI
Heres hoping it is 5 for 5 on states voting rec in 3 wks -
"A recent Cato Institute study found that the states that have legalized recreational use have so far had no meaningful uptick in the use of marijuana by teenagers, or other negative consequences predicted by opponents. For example, in Colorado, drug-related expulsions and suspensions from schools have gone down in recent years. There has been no spike in drug-related traffic accidents and fatalities in Colorado or Washington."
This should make everyone in this thread happy:
