101 yesterday, looking at 103 today... but how people deal with these temps in humidity is a mystery to me. it should not be legal to live in weather of that nature.
Crank the ac and don't go outside. I had to live in a city with 90% humidity and an average summer temp of 94 for 15 years. It was worth it though, my parents employer was paying for our permanent residency. I think it ended up being 40-60k or some stupid amount. having been here 17 years, I am only a few years away from being able to apply for citizenship, having got my permanent residency 3 years ago and living in the country since I was two. Gotta love the system! At least when it's all over I will be able to live anywhere in Europe or the U.S.
EDIT: in a very well insulated 1300 square foot house built in the 60's the bill for the ac alone was almost 300 a month. You then need to think about the shower you need to take if you step outside for so much as 20 seconds, sometimes needing three a day to stay comfortable.
Rant over.
good fucking god, no thank you. 300 a month? I cant even afford my $75 a month bill
Ahhhhhhh! Much better out the last couple days and the next week looks great! Added bonus my car got a free douche from mother nature.
Late in the week, the models are advertising a huge cool off for east of the divide and possibly some snow for the mountains.
Dusting of snow on Quandary this morning.... :D
holy shit tons of precip these last few days. Yesterday was a balmy 54 most all the day and a nice soaking drizzle all day. Last night was an awesome thunderstorm and more really good rain. Sunny and 65 today, woohoo!!!
i love when it rains/storms at night. i get the best sleep.
big cool off down here in the bubble for Thursday-Saturday. Highs only in the mid 60s, and lows will dip back into the 40s for the first time in months.
yessir... same here with the raining/storms at night. gonna snow in the mountains those days i do believe
woohoo!!!!
HOly shit! Biggest hail I have ever seen just started comming down in Breck. Hope everyone has their cars inside.
Yesterday riding my bike to the market at about 7:30 pm was the first time I've been cold in a few months. Yay Winter.
"SOME SNOW WILL BE MIXED WITH THE RAIN ABOVE 10500 FEET...
WITH LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO TWO INCHES POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT."
OK, it can stop raining now. My new trees are in a fucking lake in my backyard.
yeah, my new grass seed is floating, and i am testing the fortitude of the retaining wall i just built for the garden...
LL Pass and part of Trail Ridge Road were closed earlier. 9news said TRR had 6" of snow on the ground
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
it started again
enough with this stupid rain already
Tabernash had about 2" by 9am yesterday, the mountains had a good bit more... but it's just a tease.
if by "tease" you mean "legit powder day in august," then yes, it was a tease - http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...9&postcount=25
what? we have a weather forum? for fuck sake, who knew.
you guys need to get out more. that rain we had was what it's like in the PNW a great deal of the time
wow thats crazy
I just woke up to see two inches on the ground outside my house..
talk by Howard and the Dweebs that La Nina may be making a return this winter. Though it would not look like last winter with a bit more subtropical moisture steered into the cold air :fm:
i forget... is la nina good or bad?
Accumulating snow looks likely this weekend at the pass level, with a strong shortwave for sometime later next week.
id expect some highlites this weekend with the system rolling in.
quoted from weather.com:
"Montana, Wyoming and Colorado could turn very wintry next Friday and into the Columbus Day weekend as a cold Canadian high-pressure area and vigorous upper-level disturbance combine to produce significant snow across the Rockies and high Plains. "
1, 2, 3. Doo it.
woooohooooo
looks like cold weather for the weekend, but sunny and 60s prior to then. Still uncertain on the track and potential of the storm for the weekend, it could stay north for the most part. It does look chilly with temps in the low 20s or high teens around 8k.
It was damn cold up above Loveland Pass this morning- wind chill around 20, methinks. A-Basin's WROD was looking pretty solid from above- I predict that if any of the snow comes this weekend, they'll open by the 17th.
strong SW flow this weekend, cold temps, and little moisture. Next week looks dry and warmer, at least thru midweek.
need more cold
