Agreed. Longest line I’ve seen in a while at Loge for a non-pow day. But then the lot never filled and I was able to leave and come back in and get a spot at 10:15… I just skied groomers + Screaming Eagle, but my wife said there was a 3+ cat line wait when she started hiking before the cat came out

We got a hookup and had a family lunch at Cloud 9. Not my scene but I’m not complaining about free raclete and Veuve. Kids loved it.

Pulled in to Tiehack at 10:30. Lot wasn’t full. No lines. Busted out a half dozen runs with #2 in 2 hours. Great day.

Jeans, full gas and empty this morning. Super fun and soft in the shady aspects

People do get overly pissed off by folks pulling that maneuver. The SO and County Engineering discussed the situation a few times, but it's just basically a frontage road, so nothing against the law about doing that.

Just devils advocate.... if it allows people to bypass the light, when its red, isn't that making the overall flow of traffic faster?

Future wedding slideshow pic there for sure.

The wind really picked up at Ajax around 2. Hero’s needs a fresh coat. Curious if it is going to only ski good with fresh snow or spring/warm conditions.

No, it doubles the conflict zone for the merge, which is more friction in general, which slows the whole system.

This will all change when the city puts in their light for the Lumberyard.

Those aspects are typically that way... very aspect driven, from NE to SSE. Sometimes chalk, but this time of year can get baked quickly.

I always tell folks I'm skiing with at the Aspen areas to "mind your aspect" - 'cause it can make a HUGE difference even given a *little* bit of mid-day sun this time of year...

They’re trying to with the clownish real estate prices, but then the gosh darn Palm Tree festival brings in the hoi polloi.

The billionaires are pretty boring for sporting’s sake. It’s the try-hard millionaires and Ikon crowd that I savor from my jaded lot in life

I miss the easy tells from a couple years ago when it was super in for the Ikon-ers to keep their pass tucked into their goggles/helmet like a feather in a cap.

On another note, the last run for this storm downgraded it a touch. Should still be good since I'm booked end to end tomorrow with basically no hope of getting out for some storm skiing.

Ha...so that was a EDM music festival downtown? I thought every ski town had figured out those were a bad idea by now?

How are your moguls? Because our suck and I'm trying to figure out who to blame. If I was the felt hat crowd skiing it would be easy but I can't figure it out. I like off piste skiing as much as the next guy but I'd need some snowblades with some Fox suspension to negotiate these things.

Yeah, but when the billionare's sons take over the only music venue in town and want to bring some economic prosperity to a "quiet" weekend, I guess City Hall jumps on board and we get shut down streets, no parking and State Patrol manning the intersections. Super great.

Bumps here are pretty standard for Feb, in my opinion; I feel like Highlands and most of Ajax both are skiing really well. I haven't skied Hereos proper in a few weeks, but from riding the chair on Friday - the bumps look as rough, ledgy, poorly formed and full of hazards as they did in December when SkiCo rushed the opening. Sidenote: I think the blue run "Rideout" that funnels people from Copper/Walshes into Hereos should be closed if intermediate skiers are going to be seemingly stuck skiing off-angle, poorly formed bumps with no real other exit option. If nothing else, lets limit the injuries and save Patrol's time.

The train of injured skiers that continues to flow into AVH is definitely still chugging along. My wife has seen a lot more ski injuries in her clinic compared to previous years and I was talking with a buddy who works on the ambulance who said they've seen a noticeable uptick in skier injuries across the four mountains this season. He's born and bred here and skis daily, but can't really nail down the root cause. I think Hereos is a big piece, but broadly-speaking I think this season's the warm temps mixed with semi-average snowfall have created slightly different skiing conditions that are maybe causing more accidents and collisions. Skier-tree collisions have been high-rate lately.

Tomorrow could be wild. Looks like the gondy is already having issues with the wind but I bet Ajax trees will ski great throughout the day. Unfortunately I’m also booked solid tomorrow but hoping to get out wed morning

Forecast downgrade is a bit odd - I feel like I’ve seen these types of storms evaporate before hitting us in the past but everything seems to be lining up well enough that something good will happen

OpenSnow and Aspen Weather still seem comfortable calling for a 10-12+ outcome on the hill, but I agree there’s variability to how this plays out

I've been in the hospital a lot lately. I think your last point is poignant from the folks I've chatted with.

I skied really hard this weekend and I’m really sore. Today was my 75th, kinda gray bird, didn’t really expect a whole lot.
But I hooked up with a college bud that lives in Denver and mostly skis the Jane. He was stoked to be here
and his enthusiasm got me fired up.
Couple of gummy’s didn’t hurt.

We had a great day at Snowmass. The angry inch of new, along with the moderate wind. Skied really slow, but kind of nice.

He skied the Jane Saturday and then Copper yesterday on the way up.
Copper was the worst, then the Jane.
Snowmass had softer snow, smaller bumps and better grooming.

Probably mostly just a factor of less traffic.

Attention: OG's. Are we feeling some wind holds this morning with the gondola? Getting out the door right now and not sure where to head...

edit: feeling the Knob now.

I would head to Snowmass if DV. People stuck on the flats forced me the highway and traffic at the airport blows.
