I wonder if this Pagoda Lotus 138 (spoon) will just be the same as the Powderworks edition that Jimty has on the previous page with Pagoda instead o Alchemist construction. Pagoda = foam and Alchemist = pre-foam?

10” fresh is great in the backcountry
10” fresh at a resort is the suck after two hours.

Just skinning some laps at Snoqualmie Central/East. Nothing exciting terrain wise, but mellow pow laps on those skis are a good time.

They're the only version I've skied, but I like them a lot. And my preferences trend towards fairly long, charge-y skis for the most part.

For me, (6', 165lb) the 192s are a killer deep snow touring ski. They do ski somewhat short — they're definitely less stable and more pivot-y than 192 Protests, for example. In good snow, though, that's not a hindrance at all. They're great skiing fast in deep, soft snow, but also don't need much speed to work, which makes them great for low angle noodling if conditions don't open up more exciting lines.

Anything remotely firm or chopped up inbounds? I'm grabbing a different ski.

I own white 192 white/bamboo, had Spoons, had 138 3.1 or 3.2 (forget), and now have Purple 138 spoons too.

I love the purples-little better getting onto lifts when snow firmed up but just as good in untracked. Think they have a bit more flat section underfoot and enough sidecut to sort of turn on groomed. Can’t really say if spooning does much but like the other changes. 148s are not what you want inbounds, ie any tracks or lift lines, but only marginally floatier in bottomless.

otto parts, the Purple spoons you are referring to are the purple Pure3 Lotus 138 spoons, correct?
Or the Alchmist Lotus 138 spoons?

Thanks for that info hoarhey - I’ve been flicking back and forth between pics of my purple 138 Spoons and screenshots of the new special edition trying to work out what’s changed. Let’s just say this makes life a lot easier

I called and was told there was more tail rocker by a British gent. Besides that it’s essentially same profile as the powderwork

For full transparency, I should state the the Lotus 138 in purple powderworks alchemist in the photo is a 182, not a 192.
The new version is only a 192.

Shouldn't make for that much difference, but just wanted to put that out there.

I’m pretty sure my r1 l138 at 192cm came in under 9lbs for the pair.
