19th but that's a Saturday this year so the day off is Friday (today) if businesses can swing it on such short notice. The USPS could not so they are open both today and tomorrow. Don't know about other businesses.

We don't technically have the day off but all meetings were cancelled so we can have a day of "learning and reflection". I think I'm going to reflect while on a MTB ride.

Rolled through the drive in coffee shop this morning to get some joe and a breakfast sammy. Get the goods then give the guy at the window my card. Had the following convo:
him: "Sir do you have another card?"
me: "no. why?"
him: "because my machine is having a hard time reading your card."
me:".................."
him: "Do you have any cash?"
me: "no."
him: "So.........."
me: "So what?"
him: "So since my machine can't read your card, I am going to need the coffee and sandwich back."
me: "Are you serious?"
him: "Yes."

Handed the shit back, drove to Starbucks, no issues. Fucking annoying.

I don't get it at all. They're annoying as hell, they terrify my dogs to no end, and we're in a historically bad drought year. Can't we just do a laser show instead? Way more fun, safer, cooler visuals while tripping.
