You guys don't call him out?! That's like negative gnar points, right?

maybe 4" at alpine today... expecting another inch or two tonight
there was everything from blue ice to 18" drifts depending on aspect
Is fallen leaf already plowed and open or are people getting in there from echo?
Last time I checked like a week ago the road is still gated. Most access that zone via Echo
Here comes another Arkansas -unless they change the play with seconds left on the clock. OMAHA!
Howling NE wind this morning.
Alpine Meadows "big one" was 35 years ago today. Don't forget to tip one this evening for Bernie and all those no longer around. That is all.
NE wind is a bummer. Was hoping to find some isolated pow tomorrow. Maybe I'll wait until later and get the late season surf we have right now.
This coming week looks variable. No real snow, but no real calmness. It's my window to play, and I want pow or corn dammit.
Spur is closed for AC
^wow. the wood reports 0" in the last 24 hours. the wind is out of the northeast, and they're doing avalanche control????
scratching my head.
Watching the sun reflect off the glare ice on Keyhole at AM was a little frightening.
I've got my fingers crossed for sunday, but has it been so cold windy and cloudy that we're not even getting the cycles in?
tomorrow should be stuff dreams are made of as far as corn goes. Sunday should be good too but if you're thinking squawpine there are supposed to be gusts to 35mph so it'll just be the magic carpets.
When it snows we close
When it blows we close
But we've got a village so who the fuck cares
Another propane bomb at Kirkwood. Right at the corner of Dangberg and Fremont I believe.

Still east wind on Saturday. Things will likely soften on Sunday (but chance of showers) but true corn takes longer than that to form. Sounds like our definition of corn is as broad as our definition of powder.
where are you guys getting this info? i'm seeing light winds and highs in the mid 50s at the lake. in my experience that's the holy grail for corn,
Been offline for a bit, so answering some old posts.
I'll be in A$$pen next week, then SoCal the following, so won't be hitting Alpine again until three weeks from now. I wonder how different it'll look.
Alpine typically moves to an 8a-2p schedule sometime in April for that reason. Easier to do early control work in the spring due to daylight.
I saw you already got other answers, but I've had good luck with Quality Automotive & Smog in the SaveMart shopping center. Bill Greeno knows his shit, and his daughters totally rip.
Indeed.
@old goat, if it makes a difference to you, one of the little publicized features of the Squaw Alpine app is an emergency function that also tells you your GPS coordinates.
Hmm. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't recall that happening last year, at least not when there was new snow. Late April pow day and everyone was anxiously waiting in line as 9am approached while the sun was just ruining all of the fresh snow. I remember telling myself to go backcountry much earlier in the morning if it happens again in the future and to skip the resorts.
"Atmospheric river (ar) detection tools continue to show middle of the Road probabilities of an Arkansas reaching the West Coast during this time frame, however there have been variances on strength of the Arkansas and exact location where it makes landfall. Even without a direct Arkansas hit, the series of storms to come into the region over the weekend could still pack a punch. "
I can say the snow skied much better today than yesterday!!!
