Nice to see snow, finally.
Well last monday was 9", today 18, next Monday=?
Well, I'll finally be back in town this weekend and next week, and I have been bringing a gypsy curse to the snowfall wherever I go for the past two seasons. So it'll probably be terrible. :::fingers crossed:::
pretty dang nice midwinterlike snow w free refills & no liftlines in my 1-4pm shift, overheard many a bestday claim, hard to argue with that, we'll see what today brings, hopefully not2much windage overnight & we gitsum slushies smooveness...

Snows this past week have pushed the 30-year average SWE towards 90% in the Gallatin and Madison River basins. Storm totals for the last 36 hours are 18 inches in the Bridger Range and 12-14 inches in the northern Gallatin and northern Madison Ranges. This snow measures 1-1.5 inches of SWE. The northern mountains have the same weak snow structure as the southern ranges. A large natural avalanche on the west side of the Bridger Range Sunday is evidence that slopes are unstable (photo). Yesterday’s snowfall has increased instability in the backcountry, especially with winds loading slopes even more. It was reported this morning that the Football field on Saddle Peak avalanched last night. Over three inches of SWE has fallen since Wednesday, 4.5” in the Bridger Range. This is a steady, large load onto a weak snowpack and a lot of ammunition for wind-loading.
The avalanche problem is simple: lots of new snow and wind-loading is adding stress to a weak snowpack. Triggering an avalanche is likely today and the avalanche danger is rated HIGH on wind-loaded slopes steeper than 35 degrees and CONSIDERABLE on all others.
it all ripped out. good.
Wow, what's the story on this one, another overnighter? Hopefully, that is massive.

Today was good. Really good. Nice to ski Slushman's after Monday's nukeage. Don't worry Tone, I got plenty of turns in for you.
I love to ski. :D
skier triggered or natural in football field? Looked deep...
Don't take them for granted. I think I got less than 10 days that count on my pass this year. Thank god for modern medicine.:rolleyes2:(Quote:

Maybe I'll go take avalanche photos tommorow.
Heh. You're welcome everyone. I left for DC Monday morning. I'll let you guys know when I'll be out of town again, so you can be ready for the next storm.

^^^^ I wouldn't bank on it.
Damn. I bet SAR and Bridger Patrol are thanking their lucky stars that Football Field broke naturally on Monday night. Fortunately, I didn't seen anyone heading out Saddle yesterday.
As to when it will stabilize? Maybe never. Chabot was on The Moose this morning warning about wet slides. Massive, heavy, wet snow followed by damn near 70 degrees on Sunday? That all equals some serious fucking gnar out there. I'd be we'll see some stuff like that slide video out in France posted earlier this month.
found this on earlyups. thought you would enjoy
^^^Great job guys, that is A+. Great lines into Mundy's starting at 4:11. STOMP on that skethcy big one, hauling into the No Game travese, SICK! Almost as good as being there. All great lines and great skiing, really stoked.
whoa, yesterday was good. Took the camera out of the pack for 1 shot. Jaws 1
