What the actual fuck are the refs doing out there.
Way more heavy handed than they need to be in a series deciding game. I’m pulling the the Oilers but Florida has had some real softies called against them. Then this last one against Hyman?!

I wouldn't want to be a hockey ref. (I was a hockey ref for one game. Not fun.) There's probably a legitmate penalty that could be called by the book every minute or so. Especially if you count penalties away from the puck. Except for shooting the puck out of the rink and some blatant trips, just about every call is a judgement call. None subject to review except majors. True in every sport I suppose--want to try to call balls and strikes?--but more so in hockey I think.

X & Os game has been won, thus far, by Oil coaches who have them making adjustments and buying in. Think the analogy of Ali Rope a Dope was spot on earlier upthread by someone. Oilers are taking the hits, literally, and neutralizing the fore check on the boards (hope they can do it one more game) winning the battles and rimming it around to the cherry picker.
Will PoMo adapt or double down? I think he will continue to play the poker bully and double down. His team isn’t as adjustment oriented and seems to be more ego. “Play harder and skate faster.” Also, seems risky to adjust and change now when they haven’t all season, or really two seasons.
Love that this series has so many people watching and talking hockey.
