Only wish I had a better view of those rear entry boots.....
Nice edit.
I'll be at Jay about noon tomorrow to buy my pass and staying through Monday possibly Tuesday. Just moved back from almost 20 years out west and haven't been to Jay since the early 2000s. Anyway, I'll be in a white/tan Dakine coat, green or purple pants and Krypton pros (various skis). I know skinepenem IRL...he can vouch for my kookyness! Coming from Jackstraw country and will be frequenting Jay and Ragged this year, so don't be shy :fmicon:
Killington was good this morning. Got some 🪨 rocks. Didn't ski in the woods due to fear of sharks.
Hit a tree branch as tall as my car on the route 4 driving toward Rutland. Fell right in front of me. No time to avoid just pin it to win it.
No ski pics... lame I know.
Next time I won't drive my wife's car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5f37171baa.jpg

Edited: because avocado toasts old username could be inferred as making fun of retarded people which is no longer cool
Some late afternoon goodness.

One of my best EC lift served days at Saddleback. Two feet easy and no Wind. Skied with singlecross

The drive from northern NH to K took a lot longer than expected. Rt 4 blocked by a tree, turned around, Costello Rd blocked. Turned around. 117 blocked but I went underneath. Barely.
First tracks at needles eye more than made up for it.
Snow was deep and dense. Great base builder.
Like others have said, great lift served new England day. And I was surprised about almost no lines for the lifts despite the parking being so full.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0aef432b76.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...301350c498.jpg

returned to berk east for 1st time in nearly 3 years, with even lift line open. the lifting though was HEAVY. legs completely cooked before 2pm!
There’s only one thread for this picture…. Attachment 438785
Got out for three magic carpet* laps at Mt Abram this morning and three lift served laps at Sunday River this afternoon. Skiing with my toddlers was awesome despite the inherent level of shitshow involved, and the actual skiing was far, far better than I expected for Sunday afternoon, even in the woods. I would've stayed out for longer, but after yesterday's digging out, my back isn't exactly happy with me.
*: Also not helping my back: some sort of issue preventing Mt Abram from loading public on the carpet, despite employees using it for ski school training. I get that you might have such a situation on an aerial lift, but a carpet? It's not exactly a difficult evac if it fails.

Saddleback was almost as good as yesterday which surprised me since storm skiing is always the best. Phone stayed tucked away. I do feel for the mountain. Again very small crowds with many empty chairs.
Don’t feel too bad about low crowds and ski on chairs, especially on a weekend powder day. Just think of all the money that they saved on snowmaking. Mother Nature did the job for free and we didn’t even charge them to pack it down!
Glad you had another good day
Got out to see what the woods were like in the backyard.
Not too promising when Peruvian texted, but he gave me the thumbs up.

Glad I kept going.

Still really thin, but about 20” in the central greens has the low angle shots in good shape.

Nice Bucket, what is the story with the double?
Attachment 438899Attachment 438900Attachment 438901
a few more from the end of day
looks like double is lined up to open before new years.
hiked over there for last several runs.
well worth the travel for the lightest snow of my weekend.
was nearly dark by the time i reached my car.
Nice stuff. What a great opening day. Chute was in good shape too

Skied both days at Stowe over the weekend and surprisingly minimal crowds despite the Forerunner being down on Saturday. Didn't wait in line longer than ~15 minutes on the double. Think paid parking and lift issues may have scared everyone away. Ducked several ropes for some great turns early on in the morning before patrol got wise and shut it down.
Looking like the classic Christmas thaw coming on Friday and then re-freeze to ruin all this good snow.
^^ glad you got it brownski. 1 almost did chute later in day but by then the pull of the double side had taken hold.

by 3:30 most folks had left.
it was a demanding day and ran into a few folks who were out for first time this season. saw no others last 3 or 4 trips to double side.
Shit that annoys me: EMS opened a new store in BTV, after a several year hiatus. It is very upscale and curated. Pricey as fuck too. The old store was grungy and a dirt bag could feel at home there, with affordable options. I miss the old store.
Love seeing scottski photo. Roll on East Coast
Great weekend despite the Saturday crowds. Bonus to ski castlerock yesterday!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0e6ac1c00e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...253c0d13b6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7dd953df91.jpg
