KQ are these bags any good? Or I could just go with a ugg robe..
Uhhhhhhh Kate Spade? Yeah, they're good. Wow. There's some beautiful bags on that page.
Question is: Is the intended recipient a fan high-end big name handbag fashion? If the answer is "yes," if she's always dreamed of owning a Kate Spade bag, then I'd say go for it. You will not be sorry with how happy it will make her. She will squeal with delight when she opens it and will be quickly planning her first outing where she can show all her GFs what a great guy you are for buying her one.
Next question(s) is/are: What shape/size of handbag gal is she? Does she want/need a zipper enclosure (I always want this just in case the bag gets turned upside down). A fold over flap design? External pockets? Back-pack style? Cross-over body style? Small clutch? A satchel? Is this going to be her everyday bag or a special occasion bag?
Final question: Are you going to get the matching wallet?
This would be my choice. It has an all enclosing zipper and a flat bottom so it will stand up when set down. Also, I like the long strap combined with the loop handles for multiple carrying options.

Damn you!
Nice! You are the man!
Re: wallet - it's up to you though it does make a nice set. With a quality bag like that putting your old wallet in it could be anti-climactic. Of course it's going to depend on what she currently has - if it's new or another quality designer then I would say "no".
Here are a couple of wallets from that collection:

Old wives tale: When giving a gift of a wallet, purse, piggy bank or anything that is meant to hold money, you should put money in it so the person will have good luck. By putting money in a wallet or purse that is being given as a gift, you ensure that the wallet or purse will never be empty of money.
LOL! They don't say how much money. My Grandmother would just put a coin in the coin purse section.
Another OWT - this one about gifting knives: There is a folklore superstition regarding the giving of a knife as a gift. If the knife is given to a friend, money must be exchanged as well. It is considered very bad luck to give someone a knife without exchanging money or the friendship will be cut by the knife.
3 year old girl?
Not quite 1 year old boy?
Hit a homerun with the girl last year with a stuffed wolf plush. That's her favorite thing, and she runs around howling.
Goose egging now? Little bouncy cow like the old hippity hop for girl, is as close as I got.
No idea for boy.
according to the people who compile lists of these things you hit the mark with the hippity hop only now it's called a "Gymnic Rody Horse Inflatable Bounce & Ride". Man I would have been all over that thing:

20 Best Toy and Gift Ideas for 3yo Girls in 2017
For a 1yo? Does it matter as long as he can safely put it in his mouth or cuddle with it? I would think something bright and eye catching to stimulate his little developing brain. The people at parents.com have some suggestions - I have to admit I would have thought some quite advanced for a 1yo but then I guess kids are developing faster than they did in my day. Seems like these gifts are geared towards facilitating interaction between parent and child which opens the door to more/different gifts other than the standard stuffed animal.

This toy is cool for a 1 yo and the spec section says good things about it:

Southern ID then? Sounds like a good plan and she can always supplement next year.
When I was a kid I remember my Dad digging up bulbs and storing them in my mother's old pantyhose. He would hang them on the wall in the garage when they could get air. I remember thinking how funny they looked. Seemed to work well in Seattle climate but I don't think it would do for EWA.

I think that’s what digitaldeath gave DSM for Christmas
Way back in a post, I mention 3d as a potential gift.
Should have been 3D PRINTER?
Dear, KQ Claus.
I need pet gift ideas.
I got a roadid tag for a puppy, but I need something for 8 year old boxer (boxer got lots of jackets and leash), 16 year old cat and 5 year old cat.
Thank you.
For the Boxer: Are you familiar with Playology? Toys are based on a dogs keen sense of smell.
I picked up these for my cats when I was shopping at Amazon for other presents. They've received good reviews and cats really seem to like that shape overall because they can grab it with their front paws while chewing on it and rabbit kicking all at the same time.

Other good choices are these no stuffing toys - my kittens love to drag them around all over the place. I bought the small dog size because the cat was really small and as I said before - they like the length. They love "Mr. Fox"

Ordered Bacon Bounce Ball and Catnip Toys!
Thank you, KQ!!
KQ,
I ordered some scarves from VIDA back when you posted the link and haven't heard anything regarding shipping etc. I even tried emailing and no response. How long do they take to ship?
Since I could be KQ’s little helper, chipping in holiday card idea.

So looking through the thread I've done a jacket, knife, Jewelry and a shovel. About how much does a tattoo cost?
I don’t have any tattoos, but there are couple little ones I would like to get.
Small ladybug maybe $100?

Reviewing their site it looks like their shipping times aren't as speedy as some. Did you get a confirmation email?
You can contact them M-F from 9a-5p PST @ 1877.529.8432
This time of year things can get crazy so I'd suggest giving them a call to make sure everything is moving along with your order as it should be. Just last night I got a "your item has shipped!" email from Williams Sonoma that had the item shipping to the wrong address. Took me close to an hour to get it sorted out. I don't usually open those emails but I'm glad I did this time!
There are some real cute ones there! I like this one:

how about a subscription to Inked magazine so they can research their own and you could add a card that says you'll foot the bill or give some money towards the tattoo?
Saw this on the news last night. Maybe it has something to do with the delay in your delivery:

My daughter and son in law are all inked up so local knowledge is available. Now that I recall from the jewelry/jacket fiasco that you helped me with last year and my wife's NEED for it to be a surprise, a tat presents major logistical problems. Maybe this will help. Any female input appreciated. The first gift I ever gave her was the tail of a squirrel that I had shot. She remembers, but not fondly. I still think it was a cool gift. She's never owned a mink coat. I bought her a diamond once and she sold it to go on a road trip through Ireland with her 90 y o mom. Master Gardener. On the road volunteering, coffee klatching and grandmaing a bunch. The birthday present snow shoes she wanted sit unused (knee). I asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she just stared at me. Help.
I never received a squirrel tail as a gift.
I wouldn’t know how I feel about it until I get one.
One to remember for sure.
How about the rest squirrel?
Maybe that’s what she’s been waiting for all these years.
Loving any input Nutmeg. I searched Harry & David for squirrel and didn't get any hits. I thought I might find a Smoked Squirrel with truffles and pickled pears basket. Anyway, I related the squirrel tail tale more as an indication of my ineptitude in gifting matters. How about this. The wife is still pissed at me for giving away here bicycle wheeled garden cart when we moved to the moutains. Is it a gift if you buy someone a replacement for something of theirs that you gave away? You can't make this stuff up. help. Think north of the Catskills.
Sounds like you guys are really from Mars and Venus.
An ordinary wife won't sell her gifted diamond from her husband to go on a road trip through Ireland with her 90 year old mom, either.
You two are match made in heaven! lol
How about a really nice bird feeder?
Since she's a master gardener.

Thanks Meg!

Ok. We need to deep six the squirrels. We were 15 and I think I need take the game to a new level. Replacing something that you basically stole from the person seems to lack a Merry Christmas vibe. Robe is a maybe. I always wanted to give her one of those. She gave me a real nice one that belonged to the dead husband of one of her lady friends and has "Ritz Carlton Laguna Meguel" embroidered on it. Great robe but it creeps her out if I wear it. Don't give up on me. Don't panic either. I have 16 shopping days left and I'm way ahead of usual just by thinking about it.
LOL!!! Okay... no squirrels.
There is a HUGE discussion about robes up-thread. That one NMC posted is from there - it is an Ugg brand.
How much of a gift do you want to give/does she want? Are you big gift givers? Is it more the thought that counts? Would she enjoy an experience rather than a physical item? Do you want one gift or a couple little gifts?
You said she is a master gardener so what about something connected to that? I assume she probably has books galore but does she have a nice garden bench to sit on to enjoy the fruits of her labors and rest her knee? What about other garden art? I got a FAB Buddha head last year. I just love him! A spinner maybe? or a Gazing ball? Maybe a planned trip together to some gardens?

Also, I would assume someone who gardens is in need of some good hand cream so I'll throw this out there again:

Edit/Add: I gave this last year. Seems like a funny gift but the person wanted it and I have to say it's beautiful. Purchased the small one and it is more than big enough for a 75-100ft hose.
