Since I’ll be renting a car in Vancouver soon I figured I’d do the conversion…
$2.00 CAD / liter * 3.785 liters/gal * 0.79 USD / CAD = $5.98 USD/gal
Edit: or as frorider pointed out earlier, just multiply the CAD/l price by 3 to convert to USD/gal…
why do you even have gallons? And I don't think you guys should get to pick how big a gallon is unless you use them, so a gallon is what we tell you a gallon is.
we don't really have gallons anymore they are mostly for old guys wondering how many MPG,
its all liters but why do you have them sissy little gallons ?
A gallon of cola needs to be carryable in two hands. We would love to consume an imperial gallon but carrying three 2 liters is tough.
One thing that's weird for me when I drive to Canada is my dashboard displays fuel economy and in the U.S. it's miles per gallon, so more is better. In Canada it's liters (or litres, if you prefer) per 100 km, so less is better. Took me a while to understand why when I was driving uphill it seemed like I was getting good fuel economy!
re skip intro's post: And there you have it.
At this mornings price the cost for me to go where I need to for work this week will be around $500.
Those guys irk me so much too. Don't get me wrong. People are free to drive whatever they want, BUT when you're a cube jockey and don't even know how to turn a screwdriver, then I don't wanna hear your ass bitch about gas prices if you choose to drive such things to commute from suburbia to your generic office building.
Same goes for chicks who insist on big SUVs for their 2 kids. I know of one such person who when telling me she was in the market for one, I told her "You know gas isn't going to be cheap forever, right? This is an anomaly. In a couple years that thing will be over $100 to fill and you'll be filling often." She didn't care, bought it anyway. Now she was telling me the other day how painful it is to fill, and it's put a strain on their finances. They are now considering selling the vehicle. On the plus side, the stupid thing is worth MORE now than when she bought it, so that's a win I suppose. And so long as SUVs are going for silly money on the uses market, gas prices have plenty of room to go up. Sorry, truck/suv drivers. You made your beds. (I'm speaking to the ones who don't actually NEED them that is. And no, suburban housewife, you don't "need" a Nissan Armada for your 2 year old and goldendoodle)

@'Tukey Strong to very strong rant
Whilst I'm commuting to the jobsite hauling nothing but my lunch box in my F250, could you please expand to include boats, snowmobiles, airplanes, road trips etc.
Unfortunately It’s all good for Amazon prime.
I wish it was under different circumstances buts it not a bad thing when people start realizing they spend $5 driving to home depot to buy a role of duct tape.

Your game used to sharp and respect. Now its just washed up and weak.
I could tell you about how I actually support higher gas prices as an incentive to change and that how my big truck is a tool for making money and that I have more fuel efficient options available but I've got a gnarly driveway to negotiate. Or that I laugh at people that are so unaware that they can't appreciate how fortunate they are when they bitch about things like lift lines and the cost of plane tickets to Mexico.
But I don't think you want to here that. So keep on keepin' on. I hope you had a nice weekend and did something fun. Seriously.
If you need $5 of fuel to go buy duct tape you’re an idiot. I’m not singling you out, people complain about the dumbest shit

The "rich" always hedge against high oil prices, maybe the poors should emulate instead of whining:

Sirderpsalot chiming in, lol. What a bunch of dipshits.
Last month I accepted a new job that is going to require me to have a 100 mile daily commute for the first three months before my commute shrinks down to about 8 miles. I've got a Toyota Matrix to drive so I'll get by without awful pain but this timing is unideal.
Just got a call from my favorite oil person seems they have money to burn and there 10 million dollar house 5 car garage ski in ski out still isn't good enough fill er up I depend on it
didnt have to cuz any time is train time
but we gots metric pints
back in the day when there were gas station attendants I fill up a truck with worshington plates and buddy exclaims " wow did i ever get great milage ! " this was pre-metric so the pump was measuring the queen's own gallons not them freedom units but he is probably still talking about the great milage he got in Canada
if you run out of fuel on the road its no biggy but in the air it might not be so good, google the Gimli glider
The place I've been going for propane tank refills over the past 20 years finally increased their price. It was $15 for a 20# tank for at least the past 10 years.. Today it was $20. Told them I was amazed they kept it at $15 for so long. Still a better deal than big box store exchange for a tank that only has 15#s of propane in it..
He said "Farm Diesel" mmmmmmm.......
A) They can be recertified...
B) if they are beyond the date and can't be recertified, take it to the exchange place that one time.. then refill the one you swap the old expired tank in for at the cheap place next time.
C) I have FIVE of those 20 pound tanks in circulation... My generator runs on propane so I do that to have an ample supply for emergencies, ice storms, hurricanes, etc..
It's working really well
A new 20lbs tank is cheaper than getting an old one recert’d here, it’s almost break even with a 30lbs tank if you get a fill with the recert. 60lbs and 100lbs tanks are worth the recert.
I’ve done the ol’ swap with an expired tank, but some of those refurbished exchange tanks look worse than my old one. Old valve still in place, with shoddy quick spray job.
