Drove across Death Valley today after a Vegas weekend.
93 deg at Furnace Creek.

Drove into Mammoth a couple hours later and it was starting to snow.
Only in California.
Snow machines (natural and artificial) have been activated!

It is amazing how geographic zones can change.
When I was living in Tahoe and driving to and from Vegas I always used the 95, which is a pretty tripping drive.
Opening next week; a little snow may be coming Monday.
Who skis at mammoth? No major cities within 4 hours and not close to a big airport and has to compete with Tahoe resorts. Doesn’t seem like there’s enough population to keep a resort that big going, but doesn’t seem to be an issue. Who is there?
