Why you should own a Stockli Stormrider

I'm looking at a pair. I have a big gap in my quiver that I hope they can fill. My powder ski is a faction chapter 116 198cm. I call them my 4x4 Ferraris. My teach kids (my kids) to ski ski is old school k2 public enemies. Shorties. But the kids are getting faster. So... I am looking at the '21 sr95 in 193cm length. Is this the ski I want for general non pow day ripping around the resort? I want to go fast on groomers and chop and air it out off the cat track zipping down to the cirque traverse.
I'm stockli curious...
I'm 6'2" 187lbs.

^^Heritage Lab Raceroom 99, Comp for full throttle all the time or All Mountain for more versatility and nearly as high top end. Really smooth and stable. Decent float and great on all but the hardest groomers.

Just picked up a barely used pair of 192cm Stormrider 115s from the ski team swap. I don't need them but what the heck?

None, you said that the comp had a higher speed limit, but the AM was close. Others have too. Marshall said the comp was for full throttle all the time. Keep swinging your little dick around though.

Bet you can’t get it all in your mouth and say thank you. Lol!! You could of just said no you haven’t. Dude, the skis are different. The AM is close’ish but not quite, much less damp, among others. The comp will ski lower speed better and higher, much faster than you’re comfortable with. It’s cool man, the comp is out of your skill set. To talk about the comp, as you do without skiing it is childish at best.

Was my description accurate? Did I say they were the same? If my description is accurate then your reply is childish. Why does it matter if I haven’t skied them? I based that post partly on your description of both skis.

I want to try and ski some comps this winter if anyone is up for letting me take a lap at alpental with a 320bsl. It sounds like they rip. The am layup was fun but overpowerable off the groomers at my size but super fun to load up and pop out of turns on a groomer. Haven’t skied a storm rider either but happy to throw my bones in for some run swaps.

For the record I’ve skied a lot of stormriders 88-105 and I’d say they’re less ski than the r99 comp; less demanding maybe not less rewarding. I haven’t skied the r99 am but I’d say the stormrider would be in the ballpark, even the long lengths.

By the ‘21, they got a little softer from the plaid ones they made, I think ‘19 was the last year of that. I bet it would still rip though in the 193. Think of it as a more accessible Bonafide, but with still some higher speed chops. My wife is on a pair of that vintage, but 165cm, and she loves them. But she’s hardly a hard charger.

Well, I decided the budget wasn't there for the newer ones, what with all my land cruiser timing belt shenanigans ...

So, I grabbed these ones! How'd I do? They look badass super fun to me. Excellent condition.

The stormrider collection grows...

I bought those same sr95s spring of last year as an impulse buy after blowing up my knee. Threw them in the back of the basement storage before my operation and kinda forgot about them until going through stuff getting ready for this season. Hopefully will get them mounted and on snow soon.

I was shopping the classifieds for tectons last week and came home with some sr97s. Paid what I was expecting to pay for used bindings so I'm pretty chuffed with my ski shopping skills. They are a lighter and softer stormrider build and come in at just under 2500g with bindings. Skied great in some early season boot to knee deep pow last week. I suspect they will be a dream in corn.

Any advice on where to mount these (2006?) 188cm Stormrider Schmidt's? They're 122-89-112.

There is nothing indicated on the ski aside from a range of sharpie marks the previous owner made.

These are the same as a pair I posted about up thread. Mine have a stamped line, I'll do a tape pull and report back.

Great fun on uncrowded pistes. They’re pretty cumbersome until you get up to speed. I mounted mine on the hash mark for boot center
