It will snow a lot in jan. in Utah. You will all complain about the dry weather until then. Then the ridge will break down and you'll be buried.
It will dump Feb 4-9th while we are gone and it will also dump March 8-22nd while we're in Italy. Everytime we leave, it snows a lot.
At least you know it will snow someday soon.
Count on it.
Skill will get you through times of no snow better than snow will get you through times of no skill.
:D
... only if I feel like starting to "armchair" soon ;)
mucho thanks to those that are getting out in the bc and posting up obs and profiles for those of us that have been out of town, to busy or just plain un-motivated :yourock:

prior to the additional few inches.
That looks a little sketchier than the beginning of last year, no?
Took the Dynafit Tram up White Pine this morning, finding 1" of graupel sitting on top of WRA's pictured slick, thin, breakable crust from his 12-2 profile.
Should be interesting when we get more snow.

Yikes. Careful out there Zionites.
Several inches of fast and thick fresh made for greatly improved riding conditions. Mostly supportable base above 10k (other than the usual suspect rock outcroppings), still punchy lower down on N aspects; supportable on W. Sheltered trees provided the best turns. Wind up high cross loaded some slopes, scoured others.
Monitor Bowl today. 2-8" of wind blown new snow. Easy Q1 under the rain crust. Found total depths up to 95cm. Coverage is getting there.
glad this threads here. thanks TH and WRA for the great info.
congrats on the article TrackHead in the latest issue. :fmicon:

For those that are interested, the beacon training center is now operational in LCC. take entry 4 (bypass road) and it is on the left just before the bridge. currently they are shallow burials but we hope that will change with the weather pattern around the 12th to the 15th of this month.
