Not MS, but teams for my Corp

Take it back for exchange. Took one back that wasn't working properly, and they were like "this is a first", but they switched it for another. Prolly helps if you're kinda a regular.

Hang on...isn't that the one with a screw on collar, that is magnetized? You can buy those collars that mate with the screw threads.Attachment 344793

I was going to mention that ^ type thing too but didn’t know those brands. My battery came with a collar for the other type of carts offered around here.
Duh. There's other reasons to cover the camera. Just because it doesn't work with WebEx doesn't mean it doesn't work. I don't want corporate deciding to watch me work without my knowledge. For any reason. It's an ethics issue. And if they complain, it means it's probably time to make an informed decision.
It's annoying when some dumbass creates echos and feedback because they don't mute when not talking on a video call. Teams allows you to mute anyone even if you're not the owner of the meeting, a feature that I like and use often.
Presidential elections annoy me. I don't think I can take another one. In 3 years I'm moving to Saudi Arabia. Or at least someplace where they don't last 4 years. January 21st they're going to be talking about whether Biden is going to run for a second term and who the Republicans will nominate.

always wondering which to choose between? “Best” or “Optimized”?
Whichever's better.
we started using teams just before covid too.
And I have basically always worked remotely, but now I have everybody wanting to do video calls, when audio sufficed for the past 17 yrs I've been doing my job.
I've grown used to wearing whatever was professional enough in case a client dropped by (rare- like once a yr) but now I'm the opposite of the norm- people going more casual and I have to dress up more for my freaking video calls
sage advice
I don’t see the point of video calls. What’s wrong with a phone? I don’t need to see people’s faces to get the info I need.
And since I have a face for radio, nobody wants to see me either. ;-)
Static electricity
People who defend Microsoft Teams :fmicon:
All my recent calls have featured people with masks in big conference rooms so you can barely tell their gender, let alone facial features. Waste of bandwidth but somehow it guilts me into turning my cam on. So I have to put a decent shirt on instead of whatever rag I'm wearing.
Lately I've introduced a cat in the room and hoped he'd provide entertainment but he keeps going to sleep.
Lazy cats annoy me.
one thing I think I figured out is that there is also just a regular dial in # associated with teams calls
my assistant always adds just the team invite, but then I noticed there is a separate dial in # and if you do that it works on the phone app and doesn't give the option of video so you can pretend it's not an option
Good to know. ^^^ I just tell people I don’t have a camera or mic, so they need to conference me by phone. I’ve gotten away with it since 2007.
Video doctor appointment. Makes sense if you have a rash or something (although when my wife tried that they said the video wasn't good enough and they needed to see her in person.) But for the average appt with an internist a phone call is just as good. My doc doesn't really look at me during in person appointments anyway. Text is good too--a lot of simple issues, like whether to increase or decrease a med, are easy to deal with that way.
The insurance companies and Medicare are figuring out they are going to have to pay for virtual appointments. I wonder if it will make a difference if it's a call or a video appt?
