Sounds awesome!
Nice pour.
By the way, for anyone who isn't familiar with the glass in that photo, it's a Spiegelau "craft beer" glass (that one's the IPA glass). More info here: http://www.spiegelau.com/craft-beer/craft-beer-glasses/
They're really good, and really do demonstrate the importance of proper glassware (and, yes, a proper pour, which means an appropriate amount of head - and headspace - on top).
I don't use them all the time, but make a point of using them whenever I'm having a beer that deserves special attention.
(Of course, maybe everyone in the thread is already aware of them, but I felt compelled to call it out.)
EDIT: I should've checked first, huh? They were briefly discussed in 2014, in response to another FD post: https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...18#post4337918, so consider my post a refresher.
Thanks for the heads up, just ordered a set of four IPA glasses.
4 20 ounce apocalypse IPA seemed like a good idea last night, but extremely painful today...damn...

Each of the last few years at the Craft Brewer's Conference, Spiegelau has run a seminar on the importance of glassware in beer tasting. It's basically a big sales pitch for their craft beer series of glasses, but it's pretty effective. They get into some of the technical (gimmicky?) aspects of their design, and then you taste a beer from a standard shaker pint/mixing glass, and then from their specialized glass. The beer tends to be from Rogue (they were a partner in developing some of the glassware), which is a long way from my favorite, but the difference is pretty clear.
One of the weirdest pieces of the demo is when they have you clink glasses (like a toast), and you can feel/hear the difference in the glass due to its relative flexibility. It's a strange sensation, so if you've got 2 or more of their glasses, fill them up and toast - it's like a dull thud, and you can feel the glasses absorb the impact.
At the end of the session, they give you a tasting set (stout, wheat, IPA) to keep, so I'm slowly building up my collection. Now I'm just waiting for them to release their craft pilsner glass.
cuz it's all about the lacing, guy https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/t...-cares.148718/
