Having experienced spontaneous breakage of tempered glass. It’s all short term.
After 20 years it ain’t likely.
Cats and shit makes more sense.
Why does the fucking roomba have to announce itself? It needs a shut the fuck up and clean, setting. Why does it not have one??
My neighbor who is building a second home is pouring a concrete slab at 5:45 in the fucking morning.
that late?
Shitty T-shirts. I’ve got several District shirts that all suck. They pulled me in with their softness then turned to shit after the first wash. The mediums shrink to XS and pill like crazy, and the larges fit like a trash bag and get bacon neck. I’ve got shirts from HS that are in better shape than most of the shirts I’ve bought in the past year.
Comfort Colors makes some of my favorite t shirts. Heavier weight than the contemporary tissue paper variety but then I'm not a fan of moob pokies.
Trespassers.
Part of my property included a 100yr old homestead. I’m only the second person to own it since 1916. I’ve had it now for about 8 years. A family member of the original homesteaders lived in it when I bought it. She now lives down in town about 8 miles away. Rather than rent the old place that needed much repair I condemned it. The property contains a house, a milking barn, horse barn, chicken coop and shop/garage. Everything is old and run down. I only wanted the farm land it sat on so the buildings just sit there empty.
The other day I noticed one of the screen doors to the house had been tampered with and when I checked the other it too had been tried. When I got to the front door the glass was broken out. All the outbuildings doors were open too. Someone had obviously been poking around which I found both irritating and unnerving. There is nothing to take but still.
That was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday when I was doing evening chores a truck pulls down the drive to my barn, drives past my hay shed and turns across a berm to the condemned house (the house has it’s own driveway they could have used). People get out of the truck and start walking around. WTF? I drive over there on my side-by-side and say “WTF?” It’s a young girl and guy. I tell them the house is vacant and that I own it and what do they think they are doing. Guy tells me the girl is looking for artifacts. Again WTF?
I reiterate that they are trespassing. Girl claims to be the granddaughter of the woman I bought the house from as she continues to poke around as if I don’t exist.
For a 3rd time I tell them they are trespassing and they need to leave. I further mention that someone had been there a couple weeks prior and broken the front door as well as been through the outbuildings. They say nothing. Pretty sure it was them. They take their time leaving. WTF?
Yanno… they could have just asked. The grandmother who I know and see all the time could have asked but no… they just come onto the property like they still own it.
This is not the first time I’ve had trouble with members of that family. Seems they don’t understand what it means to sell something. Don’t understand that it’s no longer yours to do with as you please. Right after I bought it a family member who didn’t live there gave a random stranger permission to go through the house and outbuilding and take whatever she pleased and at the time there was quite a bit of stuff – she raped and pillaged before I was able to get her off the property.
Also, after I bought the adjacent property belonging to the son he sold all the irrigation pipe even though it was part of the sale contract. Freakin’ nuts.

Working on a new office building. It’s been mostly my project, not because it’s my particular area of responsibility, just that nobody seemed willing/capable to do the work. Weekly site visits and meetings with GC, architects, etc. As we’ve gone, I kind of figured out which office I’d like for myself. Not an obvious office, it’s in the middle of several and isn’t the biggest, but I like the view and where the windows sit. Going through offices on the floor plan and assigning spaces, I told my boss where I’d like to be, he picked an adjacent office, etc.
Now that it’s almost complete and he’s finally spent some time on a walk through, he’s decided he fancies the one I’ve picked out and decided he’d take that one instead. I don’t care that much, honestly, it’s just such a blatantly dick move it can’t really not be annoying.
I should clarify that I'm referring to shitty T-shirts that other people use. I can find my own plain T's no problem, but if I want a shirt with something printed on it, I'm at the mercy of whatever cheap piece of shit the vendor has decided to go with despite charging exorbitant sums for the final product. ETA, hardware stores appear to be the exception. Local hardware store, $10 for a really nice, thick 100% cotton t-shirt. Coronado Hardware, 12 bucks for a nice design on a really nice shirt.
Probably worth knocking it all over. It's a fire hazard and if iirc you are in wheat country. Last thing you need is someone lighting it up. Any local places do salvage? Where we are a local place took down some abandoned structures for free on my dad's property before we sold it.
Weird & Annoying - is there no stone left unturned re: messing with people/countries?
Mysterious seed packets from China sent to dozens of people in 3 states, officials say
A strange package has been sent to people in multiple states: random, unidentified seeds from China.
Residents in Washington, Utah and Virginia have received small packages of seeds in the mail that appear to be sent from China, officials said.
“Today we received reports of people receiving seeds in the mail from China that they did not order,” the Washington State Department of Agriculture said Friday. “The seeds are sent in packages usually stating that the contents are jewelry. Unsolicited seeds could be invasive, introduce diseases to local plants, or be harmful to livestock.”
The seeds often come in sealed packages, and people should not open the packages, officials said. It should be reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for agricultural smuggling.
“Invasive species wreak havoc on the environment, displace or destroy native plants and insects and severely damage crops,” the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said in a statement Friday. “Taking steps to prevent their introduction is the most effective method of reducing both the risk of invasive species infestations and the cost to control and mitigate those infestations.”
Lori Culley, who lives in Tooele, Utah, told Fox 13 that she found two small packages in her mailbox Tuesday that had Chinese writing on them.
“I opened them up and they were seeds,” Culley told the news station. “Obviously they’re not jewelry!”
In Utah, at least 40 people had received mysterious seeds, Fox 13 reported. It is unclear how many people in Virginia and Washington were mailed a package of seeds, but officials said “several.”

Here's what to do if you receive unsolicited seeds from another country:
1) DO NOT plant them and if they are in sealed packaging (as in the photo below) don't open the sealed package.
2) This is known as agricultural smuggling. Report it to USDA and maintain the seeds and packaging until USDA instructs you what to do with the packages and seeds. They may be needed as evidence.

Yup. And they're being blatantly sold on Amazon too btw. My mom had been wanting to try some vegetable out she couldn't find the seeds for at her local nursery. Found them on Amazon. When she got them they had the same packaging, marked "jewelry" but routed through Kyrgyzstan of all places. Origin China. Anyway I told her not to open them and report it to AMZ immediately. Customer service rep said it's been a big problem lately. Who woulda thought.

^^ WTF? Someone must have planted these in a controlled environment; what are they ?
I got some and planted a few. In the morning there was an enormous beanstalk . . . . You know the rest.
Fucking laptop pointer that starts moving by itself in a random direction until it gets to the edge of the screen. You can fight it, but that fucker just keeps wandering in the same direction.
Until I alt-tab over to Notepad. Then the fucking thing stops misbehaving. WTF?
Anyone else ever get a zip-lock style closure that one day just decides it's not going to zip closed anymore?
I'm annoyed when Monday comes on a Friday.
