First test on snow. Stayed close to the truck in the event of catastrophic failure. Nothing broke, but chain tensioner needs to be redesigned. No big deal.

Fun engine choice. Awesome job.
Just remember the old adage, if you're stuck in 4WD your twice as stuck. What is the factor with a track machine--4X, 10X, more?
Honestly those “overlanding” traction pads work great for small tracked vehicles too.
It’s 1800lbs so if it breaks on packed road, a Skandic or similar could tow it out.
Nice job trackhad
You continually impress. That thing is pretty cool. Father and son ski adventures in the woods just got one hell of an upgrade.
Frickin’ spectacular, Trackhead.

Holy shit.
Fuck that. I'm way over working on shit after 25 years of it.
my old climbing partner's father was a Hitler Brown Shirt and a doctor. After the war he came to the US and started building a house. The guy owned a bulldozer. The house was framed with steel I beams. This went on for decades. Michael had to go home from med school every weekend to help dad work on the house, until he told dad to fuck off and dad stopped paying for school. (About this time Michael started eating dog food.) The house was never finished because the guy was shot to death by a patient.
I'm not saying Jim Bishop was insane (maybe he was a little) but he clearly was not a trained engineer. That thing is sketchy as hell. There are poorly made signs all over it saying its dangerous and "at your own risk" and there are stories of people falling to various degrees of injury. He knew that thing wasn't safe.
Kill yourself if you want a thrill but don't take your kids up that shit pile its not up to code, its not safe, its not a good idea.
