Definitely one of the best days touring of the year.
It was weird driving up BCC at 545 and seeing cars & headlamps at the pullouts that have been deserted all year with the avy danger.
I figured it would be busier. It was nice to cruise up BCC at 9:30, no traffic and empty spots at argenta. I think a lot of people are putting skis away, I know I’m having a hard time finding friends to ski with.
Speaking of that, anyone skiing early tomorrow that wouldn’t mind me joining? Need to be home by 9, not skimo fast but likely won’t slow you down too much.
Apologies for the repost but still trying to figure out what time traffic started flowing up LCC. Was on Wasatch BLVD about half a mile past the 7-11 at 8:15 and traffic didn't move for at least 30 minutes. I know the canyon opened at 8 so couldn't figure out why it wasn't moving. Is that just backed up traffic filtering through the single lane?
Quite honestly I don’t think tourist busting traffic strategies are a good thing to post about on the internet.
YMMV.
Yes. But I was not there just a guess

You have another main vane flowing in from 9400s, (was blocked when we went through) so I’m thinking they are doing 10-15 minute increments or something, plus a few traffic lights between you and the base. We didn’t move for 10 minutes after they opened and we were past the la Caille light. It’s the way of the wasatch, sometimes it’s quick, sometimes it’s slow and painful. Also, accident in the park n ride, general Jerry driving, etc.

That park and ride accident happened right in front of me, it was bonkers. Think it was someone who confused their brake and gas pedal. We were just sitting there creeping forward as we filtered out onto the road, when an impreza suddenly shoots ACROSS the parking lot at like 20+mph, nailing two other cars before hitting a light post and coming to rest a couple feet before the drop off but well off of the pavement.
What a crappy way to spend a pow day (for the folks whose cars got hit). It took me a second to even process what had happened.
Were they wearing ski boots? :FIREdevil
some shots from the afternoon
GF of phall (need to point out that phall skied too low and missed the gate here, and missed out on some of the turns of the day. beater)

This is interesting. A couple weeks ago a older lady shot across the post office parking lot smashed into a power poll totalled a brand new Suburu. She swore it just took off. The cops put crime scene tape around it. It sat there for 4 days before it was taken away. ????? Subaru
Found a shirt under the north side of superior on 3/19. Is it yours? Pm me and identify and I'll send er back to you! Looks like all time down there right now!

^ Super stoked to see you guys getting after it and finally some stable snow (=steeper terrain!).
Been fighting the FOMO hard, lol. Been hiking Grandeur repeatedly during the storms just to have the sensation of breathing cold air, cold fingers / toes, and the wind in the face. Its funny how you miss those sensations where otherwise you hate it when you are able to do it on the regular.
Keep going boys
Much appreciated

The not sucking theme continues. Super nice morning!
Did anyone else here see or maybe even know the people who slide on their asses down the entire face of Superior last Friday(3/19) about 1:30 in the afternoon. Took them quit a while to get down.
Powder Mountain Season passes sold out within 40 seconds of going on sale to the general public. This is great news for sinclair oil. Looks like next year shaping up to be as epic and ikonic as this year.
Alta did not suck today
