It wasn't a vanity plate. Vanity plates in BC are a different color/design than standard plates.

In the neighborhood I grew up in (UT), there was a guy with a Bayliner that said "Pineview 1st Ward" on it. I always got a chuckle out of it.

I know it's not a license plate, but a few boats have been brought up on here.

A few years back in Yellowstone I saw a Prius with EC tags (maybe jersey, maybe mass, maybe NY?) and the plate read GR8MPG. What a fucking smug asshole. I wanted to rip him out of the car and just beat the shit out of his smug face.

Saw a Jeep SRT 8 with the plate SRTATEU (SRT ate you)

Saw a Toyota FJ Cruiser with SKIGEEK. This guy was pretty geeky, he had literally every accessory they sell bolted onto his FJ. Complete with US ski team sticker on the back and Crystal mountain license plate frame. Looked like he spends more time accessorizing his truck then he does skiing.
