You think there bad with us grown men, you should see the way they treat my kids when they are out. They don't let it bug them though. They just laugh at us blue hairs.

Anyone been up Big Mountain this year? Assume it’s gtg...

It's strange to me that Vail basically.gave up on the canyons bike park almost immediately. Seemed like they stepped into a successful operation and just let it die.... It's sad and another example of Vail not caring about the communities it occupies.
Tons of ebikes out and about. It's over, they're here. It's basically not enforceable banning ebikes and no one seems to want to do it anyways. Some guy with an ebike asked me on empire pass about bus shuttling back to that lot and I looked at him and said your bike has a motor dude, just ride it back up. I've seen ebikes all over PC trails this summer and my dad is one of em. I've given up caring about ebikes....
Buddy of mine rode the MoPi to Big Mountain to Lookout Peak loop last week, no signs of snow and the brush isn't murderous yet.
I saw 2 on Crest last season and they were clearly embarrassed to have been spotted. This year I see a couple on every ride and they are not trying to be discrete. About half of them are older gents who obviously know how to ride but probably wouldn't be on those trails without pedal assist. I have yet to see one of them ride something cool though, with the motor I'd be going up all kinds of nasty shit I have no hope of ever touching with the self-powered version.
Speaking of nasty shit, I rode Catherine's down to Lake Mary yesterday, that's gotta be one of the best sections of tech riding we have. If it weren't for the clouds of mosquitoes and the groups of 70 people I had to ride through below the lake it would have been heaven. Now if I could only straighten my index fingers which are bent to the shape of the brake lever...

a week-ish back I saw a grayhair on an ebike going up dry creek lol. like taking a helicopter to superior, just lazy... (the dude was clearly more than fit enough to make the climb)
We ended up riding the bike park. It was great! Never waited more than 1 chair and rarely encountered anyone on trail. Thieves Forrest and Fire Swamp are LOOOOSE. Super fun but it was like riding on marbles up top. We had a blast and hit all the trails that sounded worth while.
Thanks for the tips guys.

Lots of people dis on riding lifts. I think it’s fun as hell. Best way to improve descending skills. Midweek is like a pow day with no lines. Just spent some time in Crested butte and sun valley. Both places have unreal epic long single track rides. But my legs could’ve used a lift day at both places to recover and still go for a rip. Cold springs via lifts at sun valley is as good as it gets for lift served single track. Was bummed that lift served biking was closed. PC riding is great and most of us get spoiled by it. Glad you had a good time.

My 10 y.o. cleaned the A line on the spine tonight. So cool. He did it on 24" wheels, too.
That is way proud! My cleaning rate on the spine is probably around 20% and the few times it happens I feel like a superhero.
So fun to watch kids absolutely crush stuff that you routinely flail on, it's so natural to them.
Sam: Dad, do you think I could ride the A line on the Spine?
Dad: Yeah, for sure let's try it!
Sam: Ok, done and done. (And he did on the first go.)
Mom: I'll never, ever keep up with this 10 year old kid. Ever ;)
Y'all wasatchers are welcome to (responsibly) come on down to telluride, we are running the bike park Thurs to Sun
I've got a love/hate relationship with this trail. Crossed a few tiny snow piles in the shade but otherwise G2G.

Cool temps up high, dry conditions.
My kid said some deer valley employees were tearing that jump out this weekend? I told him he was crazy. Anyone been up there last two days?
Top of evil empire between the resorts. I believe that is that jump?
That jump is waaay bigger than the ones at the top of EE. I don't where that is, but there's a lot of mountain in PC.
Sucks to hear that DV might be taking out the upper EE jumps. Weird decision considering how long they've been there.
I still don't believe it. I think it's just my 15 year old messing with his old man. I don't even think that is deer valley land and the trail flows away from them. If they are worried about rouge builds, there are several currently happening on their land.
Mar123 that second jump is huge! Sorry to see the wheel exploded.
I am also really curious where that is. I guess it's time to start exploring a bit more.
Kind of looks like an area with a bunch of biting insects and jibber trash from the winter.
If that was my rim, it would have been from riding around that jump, while slapping flies off my face and crashing into a big ass hole in ground.
ha, lots of insects and a couple of deflated balloons that mustve floated over from a party somewhere.
Always a bigger, badder jump out there... Mike Tyson – “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”.:D
Pretty rad that peeps are building this stuff, keeps the juices flowing.
I think BMT was good this evening. I kinda blacked out for a bit just above the Peruvian lift and things were fuzzy after that.

That jump is 3x the gap of the Evil Empire ones.
No bikes on tram in 2020.
Rode castle to BMT yesterday morning. Beautiful morning. Super fun and tough link up but the locals (wildlife and wildflowers) and views distracted from the redlining agony of some of the climbs.

I kinda heard this was still in effect which is why I did the road up but encountered a few parties going up as I came down. Some yielded as if I had the right of way. Others played it the opposite. 🤷
