That is disappointing. Paulaner is my favorite beer ever, sad to see they can’t leverage their brewing skill into the 0 market. Tamarack’s Oktober Fest featured Paulaner Export this year though and it was glorious!Quote:

Check out Clausthaler extra herb for a nice Pilsner and naturtrüb for something in the direction of a pale ale. I quit with the real stuff over a year ago but still drink a lot of beer. I found the helles just to damn sweet when they are NAQuote:

Pulled one of my few remaining home brews out of storage this weekend. A baltic porter, around 12 yrs old. Very smooth but taste profile definitely flattened a bit after all this time.

Nice, i just bottled a batch of Tart of Darkness.
For a rainy night decided to open up my last bottle of one of my favorite beers ever - Mogli by Caldera Brewing out of Ashland OR. Barrel aged imperial porter at 10.5%.
Was blown away the first time I tried this at the brewery, but back then it was not bottled and you couldn't get any fills to go. When I found out they started bottling it I loaded up on two cases the next time I passed through town.
Flavor isn't as complex as it once was, but still awesome.

Attachment 463943 Nice on a warm afternoon Attachment 463944 Subversive Brewing comes up with some interesting other beers. This is one of the lighter, crisper stouts I've had in a long time.
I read that Holy Mountain Brewing has opened a second taproom at 7009 Greenwood Ave N in Seattle. This will be much more convenient to me than their old location in Interbay. I might have to check it out and give everyone a trip report. :)

Porcini beer based on a cali common done with 05 is out of the park savory. Add a porcini garnish for that bit of extra aroma and flavor.

Full Sail Session is back. I guess I'm not sure it was ever gone, but I hadn't noticed it on the shelves for years. Anyway, I saw a six-pack of 16 oz cans yesterday at Fred Meyer for $10 so I bought a sixer. It's good. A nice, clean light lager at a great price point. Great beer for a sunny summer day.
Full Sail brings me back to 1991 and buying a keg from the brewery in some industrial strip place I think over in Southwest, iirc. I was visiting friends at Reed and L&C.
Yeah, I feel like they've really fallen off the radar screen in the last few years. I've been to their production facility in Hood River a couple times, but it's been years now.

Wanted a beer but not IPA so I stopped in at Lightning. For a long time these guys refused to brew IPAs. They gave in some years back but their non IPA beers are still their best. Many beers have awesome spice notes that make the beer almost tingle on your tongue. Had an Elemental Pilsner and Thunderweizen at the brewery, and got a growler of Electrostatic Ale (French farmhouse ale, 10.8%) to go. Need to stop in here more often.
