I wondered why this hadn't shown up yet in a watch thread perhaps with a good explanation as to what size of watch to shove up ones ass ?

Your point is not wrong, but the TAG Heuer Carerra (not Porsche) dates back to the 60s (again, racing ties as it was introduced for the Carrera Panamericana).
Just so happens our friends in Stuttgart make a car named after the same race because they were so good at it. This modern collection (and the P-car collaboration thereof) is not only tasteful, but it doesn’t reek like an over-cologne’d Persian dropping millions to get a rail-side suite at Monaco... wearing a Ferrari track suit of course.
A Ferrari track suit sounds bitchin
The race only lasted a couple of years in the 1950s, kinda like how long a Lamborghini blazer would last
I have a Ferrari necktie. No idea how I got it, one day I needed to wear a tie and there it was in the closet on the hanger thing. It's actually pretty nice, silk, dark blue with tiny little pale blue dancing horse logos.. I got a thumbs up and a "nice tie" from the maitre d' at a fancy Italian place in New York one time. And maybe a better table. So there's that.
I also have three watches. One is a Timex that's been dead for a few years. One is a decent-looking slim gold Raymond Weil self-winding job with a leather band. I've worn it maybe four times since I got it as a present ~10 years ago. I'd wear it more but I always forget about it. But it's dressy and I'm not very dressy these days.
I also have a Breitling Colt that I've worn basically every day for the last 20 or so years since I got it as a present on a significant birthday. The crazy thing about that watch is I've only ever had to put a new battery in it once, ever. The watch is pretty nice but the batteries are amazing.
I bought the Timex when I had to send the Breitling in for the battery. I guess when the Breitling's current battery finally dies I'll put a new battery in the Timex and I'll be back to three working watches again
I like watches. I'd love to have a Rolex simply because other people think they're cool. Geffin goods, some I dig, some I just don't get. Here's my favorite watch, one I wear most often.. Swiss Army Lancer. Got it with a bazillian Marlboro miles early 1990s.
It's like this one..

It pretty much was. "This way, Sir.", with a little flourish.
My brother still has all kinds of random Marlboro gear from that. No watch, though.
I forgot the #sarc.
I just had a memory lane of Marlboro miles. And friends that smoked so much.
Hope your bro is doing well.
But fuck. Today they are worried about joe camel. And flavor vapes.
But in the nineties. You smoked more packs to get more prizes.
I totally forgot about that shitshow
And yes. I did have that watch.
I never shoved it up my ass.
Someone was surely willing to shove it up his ass.
Get a Rolex because they’re timeless, fantastically built and your kids can fight over them when you move on.
Any watch enthusiast owes it to themselves to own at least one, once.
And holy shit, Marlboro Miles, there’s a blast from 1998.
I had one Roomate in college that would scout the house, or any house really, after a party ripping miles off all the dead packs.
Between that and all the swag the smokes reps gave him at his bar, he was like a walking billboard for big tobacco.
Wonder how he’s doing.
Right?
And sharkskin too.
This tie opens doors and drops panties.
I can see the ad copy now.
My everyday watch. Picked it up 20 years ago. Still holds up.

Been eying a Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 46. Black leather strap. My wrist is too small for a 46 mm. Pisses me off. There is a similar 41 mm but it’s not quite the color I like.
Similar to what others have uttered, I just like a nice watch.
you can usually take links out of metal watch bands
maybe its too much to lift
I wanted a field watch. Liked the Rolex explorer so I bought this. 90% of the Rolex at 5% of the price

I picked up a couple Breitlings over the years. 44mm Chronomat GMT Swiss Airforce 50th anniversary, then a year ago I picked up the 44mm Superocean Chronometer. They’ve been good watches so far. I need to get a watch winder.
Next is a Rolex Batman, but they’re unobtamium right now. A few years ago I had the chance to pick one up at a nice discount and I passed. I regret that.

Chronographical Perfection.
$30 at Walmart (no shit...lost my watch while visiting my dad), Tri Cities, WA, circa 2016.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8c12fc97b8.jpg
No more than $7 per hour, I’m not an idiot.

I have a couple of Breitlings, with the Superocean Heritage II being the other after the Aerospace. It's on the rubber strap now as it looks too formal on the metal band,

I have a SS GMT II (all black, would love a batman but my dealer wants $4k more for the two tone bezel ), but it does not do well in its winder. Will go for about 2-3 weeks then lose power, even after giving it a good wind first. Don't know if it's the winder isn't aggressive enough, or the watch just wants more action. PITA to have to set all the hands whenever you want to wear it. Massive first world problem.

My Bud gave up his Deepsea recently, expecting the real estate market to tank in Houston, and he's a first time buyer. He got this https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-seas...071704100.html, and for the money at just over $500, it looks really nice
Yeah, Superoceans are pretty cool watches. I usually keep mine on the rubber strap as well. I have the metal bracelet but it's a little blingy for me. When's the last time a watchmaker took a look at your GMT? They really shouldn't need too much movement to wind them.
dirtbag collection. there are more, but these are my faves. need to reduce significantly.
That superocean is nice.
