Well, cowboys hate Indians, so why would they visit their homes.

I heard a lot of “best day of the season” being thrown around this afternoon around Taos Ski Valley. With awesome company, great snow, and sunshine it’s hard to disagree.

Awesome day guys. So stoked to ski with you all. My furloughed time is over and I need to get back to work; what a storm cycle!
Thanks for sharing (hands down) my favorite day of the year. This community is top notch.
FKNA nice shots!
I will make it out there at least once by the end of the season, mark my words dammit
Thank you for a great day! Never would have found hidden chute and I’ve skied Taos a lot. Good luck back at work, and I hope to make turns with all of you in the future. Best day of the year for sure.

Many thanks to the_flying_v for playing tour guide today on such an incredible day. He is a model mag ambassador of his home hill and a ripping skier. It was not a knee deep pow day but it was one of my best days due to the great variety of trees, tight, steep chutes, and the seemingly endless soft bumps that we skied today. Uncrowded slopes, bluebird sky and great company made it perfect. Kudos to Tim for skiing Al's Run TTB without stopping for his last run of the day.
Great meeting and skiing with Tomcat51 and Viva.

Great TR guys. Looks like a blast.
Looks like a great time! Tacos?
Nice guys!! This place needs Taos stoke!
looking forward to visiting the in-laws later this month for some santa fe/taos time.
Kachina opened to hikers this morning and I got pretty lucky to be on my way to Trescow and saw the gate to Kachina open even though the sign at the start of the hike said closed. Got some freshies on K5 after a nice hike.

^ very, very nice!
I'll be at TSV next Tues/Wed/Thurs for the first time... would love to meet up with a local for a few runs. Looks like a rad place.
great photos, way to score the kachina opening
Even better, hikers only...
I brought my Magic rock skis and left my brand new skis, on which MNIAW was nice enough to mount bindings for me, at home. I should have brought my new skis as my rock skis came home unscathed. I met some old-timers who told me the coverage has not been this good since the 90s.
For other ECers who may be thinking of skiing Tahoe or SLC in the next few weeks because of all of the snow they have received, strongly consider going to Taos instead. I was in Tahoe early February during which we had over 8 feet of snow. Every day was knee deep pow day. My buddy and I had more fun in Taos this Tuesday. Killer terrain, friendly people, lack of crowds, no crazy agro-road-closure-BS. The vibe is a lot like Magic.
anyone know a shop in the Taos area that can work on tech-bindings (dynafit beasts)?
Hot powder! Supposed to get cold and hammer this evening.
It’s 31 degrees at 11000 ft at Santa Fe right now. Just sayin’. Wet graupel.
Heading towards Taos with a buddy to ski tomorrow. Anyone want a beer or two at the Bavarian for showing us around for a few runs? Only skied one day there, with approximately half the snow.
Grey shell, white helmet, big beard, dps knock-off Smith z bends.
I hate to be a Debbie-Downer, but god damn!
Weekends with snow are absolutely absurd. All the terrain stays untouched but lift lines are atrocious. Saw many verbal altercations between locals, gapers on spring break, and the worst of them all: the Colorado Bro Brah.
Fucking Ikon Pass, [emoji6]
Come ski Taos on a Monday or a Tuesday and I’d love to show you around.
Bummer, I could have come down yesterday, but waited for my friend. Hopefully I don't regret that...
Mine tailings ripped out big, eh.
I hiked that with Ricus on our break during a pass blackout. Close to the top I'm post holing and then the whumph and a six inch crack across the whole slope. Kinda shit my pants. Not about going down...was on a tree...but burying the road.

Maybe it was busy for Taos, but yesterday killed it. Amazing mountain.
the Flying V - Ambassador mag de Taos.
FKNA.
I need to ski there before the best season in years ends.
Outfuckingstanding ambassador!

Rolled into town with my 7 yo. Any recommendations on food? Looks like Taos Mesa Brewing has pizza, any feedback on it?
The 2 best pizzas in Taos, which are actually really good, are Pizza Out Back, and Pizanos.
The TMB pizzas are just OK.
