This dude's an excellent guitar player. Ripley Johnson, also in Wooden Shjipps and Rise City Band

I'm guessing this one has already been posted, but just in case.

This one is close, but not quite:
Dont know if it's better just different and great in its own way

I'm with KQ, that version is great.
Duke Ellington wrote what became a standard in 1935:
He reinvented himself and the song in 1953:
Then teamed up with Ella to created a brilliant vocal version in 1957:
and finally teamed up with Coltrane to create the best version 1962 (the new piano riff that opens the song is as good as it gets in any genre):
Here's my favorite version:

I love Paul Simon but this is pretty cool

Better? Arguable. Does the song justice with his own spin and style? Absolutely.
T-Pain.
War Pigs.
Who knew?

They covered "Eulogy" by Tool last week, was super cool (but no video of it, yet).
^^^now that will be interesting to hear
In the meantime
And.
A standard folk ballad written by Richard Thompson
It’s been covered a bunch, always with the melodic folksy bluegrassy vibe of the original
Until Sean Rowe does it with feeling
That duct tape on his guitar covers cracks from his strumming
That's a great cover. I think he captures what the song is about, it's not a folksy bluegrass tune (though that is how it is covered).
Really highlights how fucking incredible RT is as a guitarist, it's the fingerpicking that makes the original seem folksy. But nobody can match RT's playing (not a criticism of the fine playing by Mr. Rowe above).
^^^yeah somebody described Rowe’s style as “raw and dirty” - in a good way.
I have to agree - he harnesses that raw grit of a born-to-lose boy and bad girl
I’ve heard RT do this live - agreed his finger picking is amazing and his lyrics like this and say “Dads gonna kill me” brings out the emotion, but it’s a calmer kind of rage… it’s that Fairport Convention background I guess

Maybe? Posted in the other song thread a couple of weeks ago, realized I (maybe) should have posted it here.

Bonnie Paine is her name, and yeah, she's got a real interesting and unique style. I don't know her exact age, but she's not very young, probably late 30s.
Definitely an improvement.

Taylor Swift meets drum and bass. Much better, but I love Pendulum
Country music song of the year
That cover is a fucking travesty, although I’m glad it generated more money and kudos for Tracy. But as the cover, that one annoys the fuck out of me. The original is all I want to hear
