yeah those are pretty good arguments. growing up it seemed like the conversation was usually between the babe and ted williams, especially considering he missed 3 entire seasons and parts of 2 more to fight abroad. if you give him those seasons and the extra 8 games per i wonder how close the total bases and hits marks would get.
totally possible we were just uninformed kids living in the wrong place and hank aaron was underrated by the groupthink.
I think he gets underrated because he just wasn't a super flashy player, He never hit 50 HR in a season, he never got anywhere close to hitting .400. He won a single MVP award. On the other hand, he hit 30 or more home runs 15 times and he even hit 40 the year he was 39 years old.Quote:
