Any more detailed comparison between the Blacklight Pro and the ZG 95?

Your experience with the trab is exactly how I felt. The exact same two situations. One time, I was skiing tight trees in a semi-breakable crust (sort of a weird 3" on top of windboard that broke at times). Awful. Felt like I had to jump turn down the whole run, was constantly getting thrown off balance.

I think it's mostly to claim a sub 1000g ski in something longer than 150cm. It's a benchmark these days for product teams.

I've been really happy with my moment meridian tours for their full rocker and general shape and my zero G 95s for the stiffness, predictably, and weight. Is there a ski that sits between the two, something akin to a zero G 105 with slight rocker throughout, or even a flat camber ski with tip and tail rocker? I know the old BMT series was probably my best bet but does anything else exist in this category that I should be looking at?

Blaze 106. I'll keep beating that drum. Not truly full rocker but the camber under foot is a mm if that. It's full rocker feeling to me.

I heard from a reliable source that the GT 2.0 was not as reliable as the other ones. He recommended the Plum Oazo instead.

No idea on the race bindings. How badly can you make a race binding, you know?

Some local shops should be getting them soon as well.

Does anyone have a sense of how these will fit? I chatted with my shop last week and they said larger last than the TLT 8... which I'm inclined to believe is likely wrong.

Larger than the TLT8?? That is hard to believe. The published last is a bit narrower than the 8

That's why I was questioning it.

Dynafit's lower volume shells (Vulcan, TLT6) have always fit me really well so I'm curious. I think the Vulcan was stated at about 101mm, so who knows what it mean exactly.

Thats what i was hoping. Vulcans fot me well. My tlt6's needed some punching for the outside of my feet. Perfect after that. I miss that boot though. Tltx could be it. Im in the market for a one buckle transition boot to pair with a vipec and volle v6 bc fidhscale ski

Anyone want to recommend a nice 95ish waisted ski that is good on firm snow but not terrible in pow? I'm looking for something lighter but durable, so 1.4 kg in a 185 cm would be acceptable. I've had some issues with ultralight skis decambering fairly fast.

The ones in this category seem to be MTN Explore, Zero G, Wayback, Hannibal, and the boutique euro brands which I'm less familiar with. Opinions?

I liked the Blacklight 88 on corn a lot! Can't comment on durability because I only skied it a few times, but it is full sidewall. I skied some pretty steep & hard stuff on it over exposure. It's not vice-like on ice, but it got the job done for me. The 95 could work, I don't know much about the differences.

People really like the Volkl Rise Beyond as well.

Alp Tracks 95 or 89, too. See my review further up.

Thanks, the Hagan one looks really nice. There's an older Boost 93 for sale on the website that looks fun. I wasn't thinking about Volkl or Movement either. Cheers.

Broke the boa cable on my Alien RS boots. Fortunately I have a pair of F1 LTs with the same BSL since I have a skimo race next weekend. Assuming I can order a new cable from Scarpa, is this replaceable by mere mortals? Looks like I’ll need a small Torx driver to get the dial off?

Aren’t all boa cables repairable? I’ve repaired/replaced two on assorted mountain bike shoes.
