Build spec on that Evo Comp is pretty nice. Butcher/Eliminator in Grid Trail casing is a nice touch.
I wonder if they made some typos on their launch specs ... I’m struggling to understand why the Comp Carbon 29, with lighter weight suspension components, costs $400 more than the Evo Comp?
I’ve gotta believe that Evo Comp frame is gonna be lighter than a RipMo AF frame.
Looks like its 29lbs in s4 size. Really nice bike. My 21 meta 29 is amazing at speed and rolls up a steep logging road pretty damn well for a 37lb bike. Its amazing at speed and has huge standover clearance. Rear formula hub is probably going to explode and i wish it had all those adjustments that stumpy has at the headset/dropout/and aftermarket mullet link and i prefer horst link rather than faux bar. Commie has the suspension dialed in but i think the horst link is more consistent overall. Sometimes i wish my 78.5 seat angle was slacker and sometimes i wish my 63.7 degree seat angle was steeper. Its great on dh trails or in the park and its an alright one bike quiver. I think that stumpy will straddle the one bike quiver segment very well

Even the S-Works uses the same "carbon chassis and rear-end" description, though maybe that's a copy error. Even assuming the S-Works does get carbon links, the Stumpy links are not large so the difference can't be that much.Quote:

I thought they dropped the carbon link on the Enduro, after having issues with it breaking. Or, at least part of it got changed to aluminum.
It’s not that complex. It uses cartridge bearings that I bet probably are not that hard to find (unlike Works Anglesets that use weird English sized bearing sizes only available from UK or China, sigh) - the only thing that is special are the upper and lowe cups that change steer tube angle based on orientation when installed.Quote:

One of the photos in Pinkbike's review of the S-Works pretty clearly shows a carbon shock yoke but an aluminum link. The yoke on the other models is visibly different, presumably aluminum.

it was too good to pass up for me. wheels get swapped right away. the suspension difference between the new grip2 (not enough support from parking lot tests) and the rythym's grip isn't drastic enough to jump up 600 bucks. i'll eventually get a mezzer and going ttx air on the rear after 200 hours on the dpx2. brakes are the biggest concern as i've been using trp for the last three years and it'll be hard to go to the wandering surprise nature of shimano but at least its still an easy bleed. hopefully just another week or two...Quote:

A friend was saying that the rythym fork also has a cheaper/heavier chassis in addition to the grip vs. grip2 damper. Can anyone confirm? The stumpy evo frame does look dialed. Nice to see something high performing and still lightweight. Sounds like pedaling efficiency is decent.Quote:
