I have three kayaks. I can't figure out why.

I have way too fucking many wood planes. Maybe 100?

I saw most of the wooden tubes from an organ at building reuse store this weekend. I was kind of tempted to pick them up as a weird thing to collect but they were $25 a piece.

theres an organ builder in roy, wa that has it all. Organs are weird. So are all those keyboards, my long term project is a clavichord or harpsichord

Huh, learn something new every day. My guess was that it came from the old church near uw that's getting torn down.

I used to hang out with some friends and watch people building instruments at the violin building school in salt lake. Cool to see but I don't think I have the patience or skill for it.

Also had a distributor in Europe who quit to focus on building instruments and doing research on historical building techniques. Was interesting to here him talking about measuring old violins with lasers to see how they resonate.

Hmmm. My great grandfather was a shipwright in the late 1800's. I inherited a large set of English? wooden planes that he used.
