So... fine. But as a Cochise 120 owner no way would I get a second pair of boots to save 250 grams but i might for 500-600 grams if the fit was similar. That’s my point.

Zeal has had polarized photochromatic lenses for years, how is this Oakley thing better than that?

Checked out the electric Scott at ISPO, they did not have a pack there that was activated all day, they decided to show the pack and the system separately wich could be activated without airbag. Unfortunately it was impossible to find someone in the booth that really knew details. It said you could activate the system twice, but also that you could re-load the system by replacing two AA bateries? How does that work? Anyone with more info?

Oh and Pieps decided to re-start production of their Jetforce so they have packs to sell for next winter, BD will not.

The tech does work, but the goggles themselves are ugly as fuck and I'm assuming the Oakleys will be much better optically.

Two shades of zeroG95. Red and Green. Grey ski is the W’s 85.

I can totally understand that. Now was the $299 just for the lens or the whole goggle? I really don't think $299 is that bad for the whole setup as a normal pair of Oakleys is about $200 anyways. Another concern i have is what if (when) i scratch the lens and that needs to be replaced? i assume that's gonna cost a good deal.

Interesting timing for BD to start distributing (some) ATK bindings just as they begin to offer a direct competitor to the Tecton.

Yup, that ATK looks pretty cool.

I'm worried about the complexity of these and other new bindings, like the shift.

Yeah, my understanding from talking to the girl at the booth is that you get two pulls on a fully charged system, then you need to recharge it either by replacing the AA batteries or plugging it in with a USB cable. Supposedly you'll be able to charge it on a power pack or Goal Zero type device.

Only one pack body for next year, and it's a pretty slimmed down/minimalist 30L version. No separate avy tools compartment, not much suspension, etc. They clearly wanted to publish the lowest possible weight on the first iteration. Still, cool technology, and I'll be interested once there are more choices for pack bodies.

Okay, that's pretty damn sweet. True innovation. I had heard a few years back they were working on this but didn't think we'd see it this soon. My only concern is how well the electronics hold up after getting soaking wet but surely with goggles they addressed it.
