Two episodes into GUILLERMO DEL TORO’s CABINET OF CURIOSITIES and I am a smidge disappointed.
The first two stories, while visually arresting, smacked of serious deja vu (the second, especially, seemed like a blatant rip-off of Stephen King’s “Graveyard Shift”).
Trying to decide to continue or cut my losses…
The one with F. Murray Abraham is good, everything else is meh
Facing Nolan is fun for any baseball fan.
Re-released.
Could go in the Police Behaving Badly thread as well. This is the Boston I remember

PEPSI, WHERE’S MY JET?
One episode into this 4-episode doc and loving it.
The protagonists are incredibly likable (plus they are both climbers, so there’s some TGR relatability) and the story is bonkers.
Not sure how I missed it when it was newsworthy on the ppp culture landscape in the late 90s other than I don’t drink soda…
I just noticed that with my kid last night and already two episodes in and loving it. Totally amazing. I have a vague recollection of the jet commercial and attempt to win but forgot all about sndnsure didn’t know anything about the background and characters. Great doc
Finished it yesterday, pretty entertaining
Forgot about the soda wars of the early to mid 90’s, probably a good reason why all these 90’s kids are now obese. The Marlboro points and Camel cash were wild too.

Watching now. It’s very well done.
Final season of “Dead to Me” is now live. Binged the first four last night; Applegate is just so damn fun to watch. Some heavy storylines (and in real life, too) handled with grace. Recommended.
Holy shit! The greed is off the scale and you can literally watch Charles Blazer go from definitely fat to morbidly obese over the course of his tenure. Amazingly filthy grift:Quote:

Secrets of the Great British Castles
The presenter, Dan Jones, tours each castle and gives a historical overview.
ATHENA
This is a gut-punching socio/political thriller that foregoes any lengthy exposition in favor of diving right into the action. Largely filmed in a claustrophobic close-up manner which creates a sense of chaotic intensity, the film comes out the gate at 11 and never lets up, delivering a white-knuckled emotional rush.
I enjoyed 1899, found it to move along at a good pace.
Digging Wednesday way more than expected. Ver well done.
Wednesday was actually better than I thought it would be. Have some issues with a couple of the castings, but overall was happy with it.

Was very skeptical but curiosity finally got me to click on Bullet Train and loved it
Super fun, fast and different. Great characters that I wanted to see more of. Definitely worth a watch.
:D
I saw it 2X in the theaters…

the source material (novel) is worth a read, too.
I didnt even realize it had been in theatres. i totally Can see it making for a super fun big screen movie
Kinda cartoony violence in a way that reminded me of Sam Raimi for some reason
