FKNA ! you OWN the store ? gotta check that out. Beverage King used to our go to on the way up to Stowe every weekend but that was way before things exploded beer wise. Cases of Sierra, Bass, etc and it was a good deal. Remember catamount brewery across the river in WRJ before Harpoon bought it ? they made a wheat beer I was really fond of. You could buy it at the supermarket across from beverage king, too. So sad, The Shed sold out. I watched it burn, drank beers with Jake Burton there, my girlfriend was a hostess there and we knew all the kitchen folks and drank many growlers post shift at our house. getting shed beer for wholesale was pretty sweet

some damn good IPA's out there

Yankee Spirits is a good place to load up on bottles or cans. Like mentioned, there are so many places to get great beer right now. I adamantly refuse to go to Treehouse and put up with their bullshit. I have yet to wait more than 10 minutes at Trillium, Lamplighter, Proclamation, Beer’d, Grey Sail, Alchemist, or any craft beer purveyor (package store or otherwise). Why people continue to wait in 60-90 min lines at Treehouse baffles me. The beer is simply not that good...sorry, but not sorry to any fan bois reading this rant

exactly, and it seems like the people waiting in line think they're special cuz they drove from CT to wait in line to pay $4 a can. Day I went, you could get a max of 8 cans and I asked for 2 of each. she said, but you CAN get 8. all set, I work in the biz (aka $16 for a 4 pack and I'm good.) it was only 20 minutes out of the way, and I was driving around all day. Still seemed like a trek, 40 minutes drive for 4 beers plus a half hour or so AT the brewery, in and out.

Yeah, the line thing is horrible. It kind of kills me to spend so much money on beer to begin with and then to wait in line is when the self reflection kicks in and I wanna send myself on a lap.

Bissell is where I run into it now during a Swish release. It's a 45 minute drive, so I have to commit or just not go. At least mid-week releases I can call it "work" and justify the trip.

my buddy has a theory: if you drove THAT far, and waited THAT long to pay THAT much...of course you're bragging on the drive back about how AMAZING the beer is...don't get me wrong , it's great beer...but , really ? nobody ever complains that the beer was just OK. you'd sound like a schmuck.

I have put effort into getting a beer and complained. A few pages back I posted a beer from the Veil that was not good. Treehouse’s Sap is terrible. Trillium’s Big Bird was forgettable. Just a few examples

Oh no, I'm a tremendous schmuck!

Generally speaking, I'll make any excuse to hit Portland. Great town and there are many good breweries as well. Plus there is potential to score a pattagucci whatever after hitting MBC for some Lunch.

I guess I'm spoiled. waiting in line at beer fests ain't my thing, either. Going to a brewery and getting a private tour and meeting the staff is fun. Waiting in line with a herd of cows, not so much. I hate long lift lines too, so I'm really the big whiny schmuck

"Orbital Elevator" is a Double IPA brewed with Oat Malt and Flaked Oats for a fluffy mouth-feel. Hopped with Mosaic, Amarillo, and Simcoe for a tropical and fruity pebble paradise of hop flavors.
