Storm totals are a little lower on the Northern Front range, but this was a solid cycle and things down low are filling in nicely.
Awesome day trying to make it look pretty on low angle pow goodness.

^^^Nice gerbil turns......
What were liftlines like a Mary Jane today? Today I was at Copper first chair to 1:00. Lift lines on Alpine, Super Bee, Excelerator, Storm King were consistently less than a minute after the first run. It was like ski up and wait three to four chairs and get on. Not the deepest day but I also never really heard my skis all day. Tons of fun.
Did most Ikoners go to WP and people were waiting 10-20 min liftlines?
Drive back to Denver wasn’t quick though tolerable 2:10, but I wasn’t driving.
In bounds slide at Steamboat came down from a closed area and caught some people traversing below. Looks like maybe they were trying to get in as high as they could above an open area? Little unclear.
One caught up to waist. One buried. All ok. Ski Patrol had them and were digging 7 minutes after the radio call.

Monarch has been spectacular, they opened Mirkwood Thurs before the storm cycle had even arrived, and by today? fucking awesome.
I used my three free days at Monarch that I get with the Loveland pass, and then PAID for another day because Monarch was wide open and deep, and Loveland still has not opened shit. But I'll be at LL tomorrow and whatever they can finally manage inbounds at least the trees on the pass should be good for some laps

By the way I don't know who that guy was just someone I heard hooting with joy as he was passing by, captured how I felt
Jane was $ all day. C Chair was a bit longer than usual bc they were sending an empty chair every 5. Sounds like they had some mechanical issues on Saturday and needed to take the strain off. Super gauge was full maze all morning. No real lift lines to speak of in the afternoon. Trestle rope drop was fun.
does anyone have contacts at Vail Resorts corporate? This relates to Epic Mountain Gear (what used to be Boulder Ski Deals). I sent a letter (and email) to the general manager of the store, but have not gotten a response, and no response means I need to go up the chain. But they make it pretty difficult to find out who is up the chain.
Sounds like a media inquiry is in order.Quote:
Whether your experience was anything less than Epic or totally lived up to the name, we’d love to hear how we can improve our service, selection or anything else you can think of – because if you’re not happy, we’re not happy. For all media inquiries, please contact Kate Peters at kate@bettyashley.com

Lots of wind board out there, but skied some really nice settled powder in wind protected Northeast and East facing trees this morning. If you're sticking to slopes under 30 degrees the snow might be better now than when it was fresh because it's so much faster/surfier.
Starting Sunday, I'll be at Eldora most Sundays, all season long. Give a shout if any of you freaks are coming up and want to make some turns.
Check out this crown on Peak 6.....it slid naturally earlier in the week......
